Manga Pulse 316: OMG

As always, we’ve come around to manga reviews. By some serendipitous happenstance, Tim managed to review a request that was received to Weltall’s inbox a few days earlier. Sure, it might have been mentioned once or twice before but we can pretend that it was meant to be.

Tim tackles Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure by reading the first two volumes. It chronicles the appearance of Dio who attempts to usurp the Joestar family fortune from Jojo. This is, in fact, the plot of the story and not something we made up to mock it. We won’t spoil the plot but the foreigner turns out to be the bad guy and fights Jojo to what might not be his death.

Weltall then reviews Oh, My God! a manwha. The premise is that all the gods work in a building in the form of a corporation. This automatically sounds like an amusing premise where Odin and Ba’al can share a drink by the water cooler while Hercules attempts to start a softball team. Unfortunately, the author either suffered a head injury or their idea of comedy is a bit more abstract. Like a watermelon falling through a drainpipe in a midwinter sky.

Our perennial friend, Craigslist, makes another appearance towards the end. So if you haven’t had your fill of mockery taken at the expense of people putting themselves naked before the world, you’ll enjoy that.
