Episode 436: Winter Previews #3

This is it folks, the final week of previews. Next week will begin our return to reviews, so come on and catch episode three of the 2014/ 2015 winter previews. But first TC and Red talk news, covering topics like garlic cola, the slow death of Toonami, and burgers that you could feed a family of four with for a night. Then it’s onto this week discussion thread, were they answered the question of what animes you prefer to watch dubbed over subbed. Can you guess what Red’s answer was? And then final, it’s onto previews! TC has checked Isuca off the list, followed a nine year old into Yoru no Yatterman, and questioned the virginity of Junketsu no Maria. Red on the other hand is chalk full of second seasons as he explores Tokyo Ghoul long division A, wants to pet animalgirls in Dog Days”, and is fascinated by Durarara!! x 2. I hope you’re ready, because this show has serious depth.

  1. It’s the square root symbol! You know, sometimes Japan loves to tack on some random shit onto their anime titles.

Isuca seems to be under the impression that anime is stuck in the 1980s.

  2. Off-topic:
I can’t seem to access the forums.
    Something wrong with it?
It says “phpBB : Critical Error
    Error creating new session
    DEBUG MODE”?

  3. If people (not the actual creators) say “Space Dandy is the second coming of Cowboy Bebop” and you believe them, that’s your fault for taking that as gospel. In one trailer, you could tell that it wasn’t going to be Bebop.

Here was the point of Space Dandy: COMEDY! Oh, here’s another point of the show: FUN!
If you need a real point of the show, it was finding out why Dr. Gel was chasing Dandy all around the universe, and they do solve that by the end.

  4. Red, the anime you were referencing during the Isuca talk was Kekkaishi. Please, i beg thee, don’t ever compare Kekkaishi to Isuca. Kekkaishi was actually trying to tell a story and make you care about the characters. Isuca’s just waiting for the next excuse to have an ecchi scene.
