Episode 450: The One that Got Away

Hello everyone, Red here. Now normally I would be bringing you a new episode of Anime Pulse about this time, but due to technical difficulties the recorded show was rendered unsalvageable. This means that Rio and I did have a show, but it will not be released to the public due to this fact.

I’d like to apologize to all of out loyal listeners, this is the first time this has happened on my watch and I hope it to be the last time. Rio and I are working on trying to prevent this problem from occurring ever again, but it’s an odd one.

This is where you the audience can come in to help save the day, perhaps solve this unique problem. See, the show is recorded by the two hosts (Rio and myself) and then I edit them together. Normally this is an easy task and I slap the two audio tacks together, line up a spike in the recording we create by clapping, and the two sync together like PB&J. What has been happening however, is that Rio’s half is slowly adding silence time over the course of her recording. By the end of it all, her audio is up to fifteen seconds longer then my own, our audio not syncing up at all. This is a problem I have never encountered before and I do not know what to do, Rio says she might be onto something but I’d like to get more heads in on this.

Like myself, Rio is using Garageband. If you have any ideas as to what this problem could be, let us know in the comments below.

Thanks ahead of time,

-Red

What’s not such a shocker is the question, which is dedicated to mothers everywhere: Who is your favorite anime mom? And finally we round things out with reviews, Red creeps along with Tokyo Ghoul and Rio bashes the harem anime Trinity Seven. Hope you got your boots on, because you’reabout to get wet. No not like that, pervert.

VG Pulse 225: Silent Borderlands

This week on VG Pulse, we start out with the side note that we really have no side notes, before diving into quite a long discussion about companies trying to copyright words, as well as Millennium’s thoughts on why Konami might be doing what they’re doing, the state of affairs of Konami and Kojima’s split, and the sad state of affairs involved in the production of Silent Hills. After the news we have Xahldera step in to review Borderlands, and finish off with a very good and thoughtful discussion surrounding the last forum topic. All this and more up next on VGP 225! -Aki Continue reading “VG Pulse 225: Silent Borderlands”

Episode 448: Death.Zero

Hello everyone. This week have some articles like gigantic burgers, memes that resurface thanks to artists on Twitter, and an old ad for Weight Gain. Then it’s into the Discussion- oh wait, yeah, sadly that won’t be happening. The website was down, which means this weeks discussion thread will be moving into next weeks. Sorry about that folks, technical difficulties and all that. So Instead Red and Rio jump straight into reviews. Rio is up first with Death Parade, and Red finishes things off with the first season of Aldnoah.Zero. The race to be the new full-time cohost is almost up folks, so if you haven’t put your ballet in yet then get to it!

Popcorn Pulse 32: Strange Fall

Like a slinky pitched over the side of a building, the joint discussion of the week revolves around Fallen (1998). In it, Denzel Washington plays a cop who’s yet to be too old for this shit. He ends up being haunted by a demon who can pass along to someone new with a pat on the shoulder. It ends up inside mister Rogers after he stops to comfort James Gandolfini for being in Get Shorty. This allows Rogers to terrorize a small Midwestern town until he’s hunted down by Werner Von Van Helsing.

Tim then decides to trot out a film that’s aged worse than the Mona Lisa inside of a compost pile in Louisiana, Dr Strange(1978). It features a man for whom no is merely a suggestion and mustache wax gets itemized on his taxes. He plays a psychiatrist who finds out he will now have literal magic hands which he uses to battle Morgan La Fay for custody of Merlin’s bones. Also, the sorcerer supreme has the Jedi mind trick in his bag which he uses no less than three times.

Weltall discusses Brother(2000). It’s about a man named after the honorific for big brother who doesn’t turn out to rule Eastasia. He drops out of the Yakuza and moves to L.A. to find himself. Upon arrival, they go to a wedding, get completely wasted and wake with no memory of the previous night. This culminates with a wild seventeen minute car chase on the highway which ends with Keanu Reeves punching a speeding bus at him.
