Did you like that joke episode? I hope not, because it sucked to edit. Back to the way things should be, we start off with IRL news about Joseph sneaking about in Dishonored 2 and Andrew getting around to playing Doki Doki Literature Club. The community section runs a bit long, but that’s only because there’s plenty to talk about when it comes to popular YouTubers. Industry news is rather depressing, but that’s what you get when the co-founder of Ghibli passes away and Japan’s second favorite pastime is showing sings of dying off. At least the reviews break away from the bad news, with Joseph dating a perverted girlfriend and Andrew thumbing his nose at a collection of horror stories.

I don’t like the Jimquisition segments as much as Jim Sterling’s audience does. I think that you could just watch him playing awful video games (He calls those “Direct to video” now) and get into him that way, if you don’t want to watch a produced, somewhat more serious segment
Andy, it was not your sig pic in the ED’s forum post that disturbed me. It was the gif you chose to include, which was an unholy nightmare of a 3D CG Haruhi merged with Shrek. UGH!
Sounds like me and Andrew ended up with pretty much the same opinion of the Junji Ito collection. It’s not not all horrible just… I guess the best word to describe it is “pointless”. It removes a lot of what made the original stories relaly good without adding anything with the tools available to them as animators. If they weren’t going to put in the effort that his stories deserve then I don’t see what’s the point of even adapting them in the first place.
And in regards to your brief comment on FranXX: It’s actually been getting deeper as of late, with some pretty well-written character drama. Not exactly what I expected when I watched the first few buttacular episodes, but it’s a pleasant surprise!
Also, right at the beginning of his review did Joey say “for all intensive purposes”, questionmark?
If we just correct Joey-isms, There’s going to be one an episode, at least. It’s a common error, though.
I just thought it was kind of amusing how he started a review of a show about people who are too aggresively sexual by mentioning “intensive purposes”. Intensive indeed.
Maybe it was just my sleep-deprived mind making a humorous connection there. 😛
Hahaha! Intensive purposes! (Grammar check, it’s supposed to be “intents and purposes.” Thought I think “intensive” might have migrated into accepted usage at this point because SO MANY people get it wrong this way.)
