Do you like panels? We sure do. Our favorite is an unstained pine with a light varnish, mounted with finishing nails against studs. Sometimes we like to gather panels from conventions for a more eclectic look. You might deal with some screaming as you drive some of the hosts to the wall. That’s why this episode is brought to you by FratDrops chloroform. FratDrops, when you absolutely need to score. Continue reading Manga Pulse 353: Golden Cath

As we didn’t attend the yearly pilgrimage to the San Diego, as press, we aren’t dedicating an entire show to recapping. Weltall did go solo and was able to note a few major changes. Such as the complete absence of con funk! And if you didn’t know we were lying, you’ve never been to a con. Weltall does report improved crowd control and access which has smoothed things out quite a bit.

The joint discussion is on a relic from the nineties, From Dusk Til Dawn(1996). It features George Clooney attempting menace while Quentin Tarantino tries to swallow Selma Hayek’s right foot. We decided that the movie has a point where Quentin lost interest and just said “fuck it, everybody turns into vampires and dies.” A mister R.R. Martin would probably mistake the end for a wedding if he glanced up at it. Continue reading Popcorn Pulse 57: Ghost Dawn

Help Us Out

So if people could do a short survey for us it would help us possibly get advertisers back. That would help us actual afford hosting…

So we haven’t heard any threats, veiled or otherwise, regarding the site’s visual facelift. If anyone was going to send us a murder-gram, we figure it would have happened already. Having not, we assume that everyone is pleased and glad to see. Also, we want to remind folks that the forums are alive and ready for action. We have pruned down the maze into something more straight forward regarding the shows. Continue reading Manga Pulse 352: Dino Ming

Would you believe we have things moving along with the website? It’s true. If you don’t believe us, how are you not noticing the format change we’ve enacted? You’re not having this read to you by a robot are you? Damn you Cortana and Siri, stop stealing jobs from healthy eyeballs! We do not submit to your gentle tyranny of soft spoken control! This week we did the show just before our local Comic-Con. Which was impressive as we’re pretty lazy and tend to slack on shows around convention times. The only thing we figure is someone left us a brick of cocaine which we dropped into our tea. Nothing quite like powdered motivation to ensure we get things done.

Tim reviews, apparently, a sequel to something we’ve already reviewed, Freezing Zero. Way back when we were still in the one hundreds(Tim believed it was in the 120’s though it was 177) one of us did the manga Freezing. This is the spin off which features, presumably, the same main character. Tim describes it as Evangelion, swapping out Shinji for a Tits McGee and Angels for Novas. While it attempts to spice things up with exposed nipples, it’s far too boring to be interesting. It gets Burn It for being an obnoxious clone.

Weltall then talks about Musunde Hiraite(by Minase Mayu). We specified the author as just image searching the name pulls up pictures that have nothing to do with the manga Weltall reviewed. It’s a bit confusing as it doesn’t follow the format we’re quite used to. The first chapter revolves around one person desperately trying to confess to a girl. Then a character from that chapter gets a promotion to protagonist for the second chapter. The unique storytelling device was interesting by not buttressed by enough story to earn more than a Borders.

It’s been a little bit since we did a theme episode. Or it might not have been so long and we have short memories. That’s what happens when your brain is fueled by rage and stupid like ours. We settled on a show focused on Bill Murray. Continue reading Popcorn Pulse 55: Bill Murray

If it’s two things we love, it’s popular trends and the author of Twilight. Which is why this month’s choice was the Jane Austen obsessed book and Stephenie Meyer produced movie, Austenland.

The story follows a woman that can’t let go of how great Colin Firth looks dripping wet and manages to get into the exclusive vacation spot of Austenland where she is totes the prettiest girl there. Whether it’s the coy glances at tight breeches or the rousing games of whist, it’s a non-stop roller coaster of Regency era romance that doesn’t slow down. Where you’re constantly asking yourself, who will Felicity choose? Mr. Flight of the Conchords or Mr. Totally-Acts-As-If-He-Hates-Her-So-There-Is-No-Way-It-Could-Turn-To-Love?

So adjust your petticoat, make sure your wanton ankles are covered, and enjoy us talking about the best side character ever. We’re positive you’ll find her absolutely…charming. *winky face, mid air high-five*

We have at least one idea which could make a profit in the near future. Shrapnel helmets to sell overseas. They’ll be made in America and sold to countries where there is a risk of bombs being dropped from Trump Force One because the president can’t tell the difference between China and Mexico as they all speak foreign.
