Re: AP 551 - Q. ED's

Since no one else has commented yet, I guess i will get us started. I mentioned in the OP topic that I happen to like a lot of OPs and EDs from all manner of anime, across many genres. Either the particular artist or composer grabs me or the way it fits characters and themes of the anime it is paire...

Re: the Thread of Reading

I highly recommend Audio books for those who find the actual reading hard to do at times. I like to listen to an audio version of a book while I am commuting to and from work. I will read another book when I am at home with free time. Sometimes I will throw in a comic or a manga. I have dropped off ...

Re: Hobbies

Hmm, I should narrow my list of hobbies down... I will just mention the two main ones at present: Writing (Fiction) and playing modded PC games (including creating/programming my own mods.)

Re: AP 549 - Q. Why?

My reasons are simple: I have always loved the art of Animation. I was the kid who studied the great animators and their studios, tried their hand at animating and stop-motion via film and video camera, wanted to work at Disney and became a discerning critic of cartoons. I am also old enough to live...

Re: AP 548 - Q. Openings

Hands down, anything by Yoko Kanno. My all-time fav has got to be Tank! by Kanno and The Seatbelts, which is the unforgettable OP for Cowboy Bebop. Iconic and awesome, just like the anime it introduces. I have lots of favorite OPs and EDs, for various anime, old and new, but this one has to be menti...

Re: VGP 299 Discussion Topic: Violent Video Games

Oh, my, this is such a loaded subject, full of lots of considerations that shouldn't be taken lightly. And this only points out that the media and politicians' glaring predeliction to jump to conclusions and seek easy answers has become foolishness on display. It is too easy to seek knee-jerk soluti...

Re: VGP 297 Discussion Topic: Favorite Game Played in 2017!

I really enjoyed Horizon:Zero Dawn and Nier Automata last year, the latter of which I would give the nod to. But in the end I went back to Skyrim... I always go back to Skyrim, it would seem... *sigh*

Re: AP 547 - Q. Droppings

I usually give a show a couple of tries. If I make it past three or four episodes, I usually make it through the season. There are a few times, however, I get hooked on a show, but something happens which forces me to decide to stop watching. I can't think of many, but I can guarantee if the writer ...

Re: AP 546 - Q. Tear Jerkers

If it has a good story, great characters and well directed, yeah, I can get teary eyed. I can't think of one recently in particular, but one that I will long remember is the scene in FMA:Brotherhood where Winry learns that the man who had killed her parents is Scar and she has to be talked down by E...

Re: VGP 289 Discussion Topic: Favorite OTP!

Not many memorable games I've played where there are romances, unless it's the nameless PC and some companion NPC. But I think I'm going to mention an old-school (and wacky) one: Guybrush Threepwood and Elaine Marley from the Monkey Island series. https://images.duckduckgo.com/iu/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fts...
