Re: AP 596 - Conventions

"Have you ever been to an Anime Convention?" Too many. By my reckoning, I've been going to them for roughly 12 years, not counting the few years I wasn't available to go to them or there wasn't one that interested me. I usually go to indulge in my creative side and use my photography skills to take...

Re: AP 591 - Otaku Culture

I guess technically it was "Bubblegum Crisis 2033", which was the Anime I watched while in University that got me back into Anime originally and into the Otaku culture. If you really want to be pedantic, I guess "Doraemon" which was also my very first Anime I watched may count here as it may have su...

Re: What games are you playing?

I've started playing God Eater. It calls itself an Action RPG but it feels more like a Hack and Slash sort of game. Having fun with it so far.

Re: Photography

To add to my photography interests, I'm going retro! Really retro! Got two film cameras and started shooting with film. 35mm rolls and loving it. https://www.instructables.com/id/The-Essential-Guide-to-Film-Photography/ https://www.esquire.com/uk/culture/a20112200/how-to-use-35mm-film-cameras-buying...

Re: AP 590 - West to East

Got to admit I haven't watched any significant Anime Adaptations of Western IP's, so I can't really comment on them. However I would like to see an adaptation of the BBC version of Sherlock, the TV series about a modernised Sherlock Holmes. It kind of already exists as a Manga serialisation in Kadok...

Re: VGP 323 Discussion Topic: Upcoming Games of 2019!

"Left Alive", a game that looks like a cross between "Armored Core" and "Metal Gear Solid" when I saw the pre-order advert for it on Steam. And it turned out I was right as "Toshifumi Nabeshima", the director of Armored Core and "Yoji Shinkawa", the character designer from Metal Gear Solid. It looks...

Re: AP 589 - Favorite Genre

For me, it's Sci-Fi and Slice of Life. Can't beat mecha, sitting talking about nothing and sitting in Mecha talking about nothing. ;) https://raikou1.donmai.us/84/ab/__gundam_dynames_gundam_exia_gundam_kyrios_and_gundam_virtue_lucky_star_and_etc_drawn_by_eblmeka__84ab88cd376137fa3269c7f99af35e44.jpg

Dogmeat and his descendents from the Fallout series. What is there not to love? He is a tough canine companion who will help fight off enemies and like all loyal dogs will never judge you no matter what. He's a very good boy and you can't say no to that lovable face. https://vignette.wikia.nocookie....

Re: AP 588 - CG Shows

Hmm...

If done correctly, CGI can add to a show and enhance the scene being depicted beyond what normal hand drawn animation can do. But if done badly, it just looks cheap and out of place, just like in certain live action movies.
