AP 559 - Q. Hollywood

Post by VicMonado »

So similar to popular movie franchises anime is no stranger to remakes/reboots. At times a fresh coat of paint is all that's needed to breath life into beloved series so this week I ask: Is there an anime that you would like to see redone in the current year? Any ideas of what they could change to bring it up to date?

Bubblegum Crisis. Not the 2040 series but the original 2033 OVA's. Which I know will never happen because of the legal mess up caused by the disagreement between the companies involved in making it and the collapse of one of the said companies involved. It still would be nice to see a reboot or remake of that series. I think some modern animation techniques as well as a tightening up of the script and plot would help bring it up to date. Moving from a self-contained episode format to more of a overarching story might help, but not how BGC 2040 done it... :P
THIS IS ONLY A TEST...

(Are you including a gif of Berserk to wreck my soul?)

I think I would love Air Master to be remade- and actually finish. Much like Berserk, which didn't continue its story until they gave a baby some 3D modeling software in 2017, Air Master didn't really go anywhere. It had an awesome last fight, but I think the concept- a super tall teenage girl who becomes a fighter- can gain attention in 2018. I need more hand-to-hand combat in my anime!

I think a full remake of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni would awesome. I'm a big fan of the original show, but as with most DEEN productions it has a tendency to look kinda janky a lot of the time. I'm not holding any hopes up for a remake to actually happen though. It's a 50-episode show and I doubt most studios would be willing to take the risk investing in something like that.
