So in light of the recent tragedy that has occurred with Studio Kyoto Animation I think it would also be good to drum up some positivity and perhaps celebrate the great work they have provided us over the years. So today let's talk about your favorite anime from Kyoto Animation.

I am going to go with Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! (Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions) as my main pick. I could list Full Metal Panic or Violet Evergarden or Beyond the Boundary or even Haruhi, certainly. But all in all, Chunibyo came at just the right time for me and my then nascent anime-watching sons. We enjoyed watching the series together very much. A great mix of comedy and drama with a lot of charm, particularly the first season. It continues to hold a fond place in our hearts.

Lucky Star, I didn't tink I wouldn't have like the anime based on how the manga was formatted but it was pretty good. There's also Violet Evergarden which did make me cry.The animation was beautiful, the music masterful, everything came to together to make this a masterpiece.

I didn't realize KyoAni had been around that long! My favorite is recent, though: Violet Evergarden. I could go on about it but I'll just leave it there.

I wouldn’t be who I am today if it wasn’t for Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. I think that’s a common sentiment for many folks, but damn if that show wasn’t a massively influential on the lives of many and the industry itself!

I'm not a KyoAni fan, meaning that most of it has not appealed to me, and most of what I did watch, I didn't finish. That being said, I loved the hell out of Nichijou. I call it the second coming of Azumangadaioh. Give me that crazy all day!

It's sad that I may never know if a KyoAni show was in the works that speaks to me. I hate when futures get taken away so suddenly.
