AP 614 - Anime Eats

Post by VicMonado »

It's a well known fact that food looks better in anime form in general. So today are there any examples of food you were tempted to eat based off seeing it in an anime?

I've decided to not steal Joe's thunder and mention one of the dishes seen in Shokugeki no Soma, so I have to think of something else.
I have tried a number of the traditional or common dishes seen in most anime already. And as a result I can't think of many others that make me want to try them. But there is one that I still haven't tried -- dango. I have tried mochi, but not dango, particularly as seen on skewers as a sweet food. Whenever I see it in a show I start to wonder, as I have just seemed to have missed several chances to partake. Will have to make an effort some time.

I've been wanting to try Authentic Ramen (Naruto)and Takoyaki (OnePiece). Got a day off work and remembered that the owners of a new ramen shop down the road came in to my job sometime ago. Mum also had the day off, so we made it a date! OMG ramen is EXPENSIVE and Takoyaki tastes better than I thought it would. The ramen was nice but I need to find a flavor that I enjoy more. Side food: Mum was surprised how her Fried Calamari wasn't cut smaller like at most other restaurants, but she still loved it!

Anything karagi related looks absolutely delicious, takoyaki and okonimiyaki are up there too. I don’t know what’s this called, but the one with the small octopus on a stick with a boiled egg inside its head. Oh! Omurice have always looked goooood .

I’m going to visit Japan in less than a month, and I’m so excited to try out Japanese cuisine.
