Anything out of Johnny's Entertainment...think someone already mentioned Arashi...
Others to give a listen to:
~KAT-TUN. If you like all the J-Rock everyone's suggested, but want it kind of...light...KAT-TUN is pop, but with a rock-ish sound. {Even so...their ballads are AMAZING.}
~NEWS. Pretty much your average pop band, but they're experimenting with different sounds. {LIAR is so rock-ish it's not even funny. And I LOVE Taiyou no Namida.}
~Kanjani8. Hilarity in a band. They do some modern pop, a bit of 70's style music, and then there's the funny stuff...{Seriously. Give Zukkoke Otokomichi or Wahaha a listen and see if you don't lol.}
As for bands in anime...well, some of my favorites have already been suggested. But I like skoop on somebody {they do one of the Bleach endings, Happy People} a lot. _________________

Haha yay! Another Johnny fan!! <3
Although I'm not much of a music lover as much as them in dramas..and shounen club <3
XD
Sadly no one seems to remember SMAP around the anime world when people mention Johnnys...but arashi is popular..maybe cuz of jun in hana yori dango or something lol
Sadly my favorite musician group out of the whole Johnny roster is Seishun Amigo T_T Kame and Pi should really get together for more songs! _________________ This has been cleared out by Ichigo. Feel free to redo your sig, but the limit for images is one, and keep the size under a meg, or I will clean it out again. Thanks. |

Heh...SHONEN CLUB = <3. And JE was the reason I started watching dramas.
Nobody ever remembers the oldies; sad, isn't it? I've not listened to much, if at all, of any older Johnny's groups, but I'm sure they're amazing. Of course...Kitagawa wouldn't have picked them if they weren't!
Ah, Shuuji to Akira. I just listened to Seishun Amigo a while ago...My favorite {aside from KAT-TUN} would have to be...TegoMass. Mostly 'cause Tegoshi's voice is just TO DIE FOR {Stars kills me every time} and Massu is...cute in a reminds-me-of-a-Junior way. _________________

Amuro Namie is one of my fav J-pop artists. Nakashima Mika is another. (I fell in love with her music after seeing her in the live action Nana)
Others:
The Pillows
Gackt
Rie Fu
UVERworld
Orange Range
Yoko Kanno & The Seatbelts (although they fall under more than one genre)

DID YOU SEE SHIGE'S LITTLE STRIP TEASE A MONTH OR TWO AGO?
He's the under-appreciated NEWS member lol, but i have two friends who are in love with him. Definitely gorgeous. Definitely beautiful. Definitely talented.
:]]]]]]]]]]]] WHEEEEEE
I shall check out TegoMass O.o; Sadly I've..never heard of them? _________________ This has been cleared out by Ichigo. Feel free to redo your sig, but the limit for images is one, and keep the size under a meg, or I will clean it out again. Thanks. |

I mostly watch old rips of songs...watch too much anime to actually watch the episodes. XD Although I think I might start...those Juniors are CHO KAWAII~~. And...SHIGE STRIP TEASE WTHHH?! MUST. SEE. Shige is gorgeous. XD {And of course because of the infamous clip from the Never Ending Wonderful Story DVD I now swear up and down he and Koya are awesome together...}
I heard Miso Soup live...I don't really like Massu all that much, but it was good, I admit. _________________

Oh yes...and if you like the last opening in Bleach, ASIAN KUNG FU GENERATION has a new CD called WORLD, WORLD, WORLD. I haven't listened to all of it {because of all the sparkly new Johnny's music} but it's pretty good. _________________

ayaka (husky voice, Recommend: Why, Clap & Love and her album First Message)
BONNIE PINK (some music is better then other Recommend: Album: Thinking Out Loud)
Chara (her voice is REALLY weird to some people but once you get used to it its okay Recommend: Definetly start with her BEST album Caramel Milk ~THE BEST OF CHARA~ Recommend: Album: Caramel Milk ~THE BEST OF CHARA~, Happy Toy, Sweet)
moumoon (HUGE recommend Recommend: mini album: love me? and Flowers)
ikimonogakari (nice little band XD Recommend: album: Life album)
Mika Nakashima (she's more of a jazz-pop and ballad singer Recommend: Album: TRUE, LOVE, and MUSIC)
Eri Nobuchika (not really well known and her music is more dancey Recommend: album: erinobuchika)
Koda Kumi (her music is really hard to catagorize, if you want more dirty sounding songs listen Black Cherry but if you want her more serious material I would suggest Kingdom, affection. Recommend: albums: Black Cherry, Kingdom, affection, Singles: 4 hot wave, and BEST album: BEST ~second session~)
Genki Rockets (a small unique band, their music is more electronic but really good Recommend: Singles: Heavenly Star/Breeze, its their only single)
Utada Hikaru (all albums is good but I suggest you start with HEART STATION Recommend: Albums: DEEP RIVER, Ultra Blue, HEART STATION, First Love, Distance)
Namie Amuro (her early works are more pop and her newer works are more urban Recommend: Albums: SWEET 16 BLUES, CONCENTRATION 20, Genius 2000, and PLAY)
Kimura Kaela (shes more rock but her music is awesome Recommend: Albums: Kaela, Scratch, Circle and +1)
Shiina Ringo (also a more rockish artist but her music is very unique I recommend you start out with Shouso Strip then if you like it move onto her other music Recommend: Albums: Shouso Strip, Muzai Moratorium, and Karuki Zamen Kuri no Hana)
Ayumi Hamasaki (HUGE recommendation, her early works are more pop then she moved onto a more rock sound, I definetly suggest you start out with A BEST then if you like it listen to her other albums Recommend: Album: A BEST, MY STORY, LOVEppears, Secret, RAINBOW, Memorial Address, GUILTY, I am..., Duty and (miss)understood, Also A song for XX if you want a old school sound)
Aoyama Thelma (shes really R&B sounding Recommend: Album: DIARY) _________________

Good call on the Pillows. They have been around forever and have a ton of great albums out there. Same thing with Beat Crusaders. Mai Yamane and the Seatbelts are rad in the pants as well.
A few other good ones are
B'z
Dragon Ash
Pink Loop
Knotlamp
Low IQ 01
Mr. Children (name sounds like some Pedo yeah?)
Perhaps we could chop this up into sections like JPunk, JPop, J Rock, etc. That way you can find your particular flavor of music easier, that of you won't accidentally download Tommy February6 (is that right?) expecting punk or the Pillows expecting sugary Jpop.
Just throwing it out there.
If you don't like it feel free to throw it right back.
Just be gentle I bruise. |

| Wow, One person...only one has mention the amazing ness that is The Home Made Kazoku Universe. Not sure if everyone will like it. But,me I love them. They've done the second opening to Eureka Seven. One of the ending of Bleach. I'm not sure if the reason why no one mentions them is cause of common knowledge. But, if you don't know them check them out there great. Sorry, my little rant there. I really love this band. I might edit this later showing the differnt ending and opening themes they have done. This is GreenJester saying Peace out. |

X-Japan: One of the best Japanese metal bands ever!
The Pillows: The soundtrack for FLCL proved just how good they are
Maximum the Hormone: Death Note brought them fame, but their early stuff is really good. Here is a vid with my favorite song by them.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hGoZ93OmOJo
The song is called Chuuchuu Lovely Munimuni Muramura
Oh and Dir En Grey is also a good Japanese band. _________________ I used to have a cool picture |
