Evangelion: Zanunkoku na tenshi no teize
This is an upbeat and entrancing song. Plus it's from my favorite anime.
Bebop: Tank and The real folk blues
Great Jazz opening, a genre of music not seen much in anime.
Rahxephon: Hemisphere, "「夢の卵」 Yume no Tamago (Fledgling Dream)"
A unique opening from an anime known mainly for it's music. The ending is so trippy.
Gundam Wing: just communication
Well, another great 90's techno opening, from my favorite Gundam.
Buso Renkin: Makka Na Chikai" by Yoshiki Fukuyama
Good J-rock with shredding.
GTO: driver's high
Catchy and great guitar.
Paranoia Agent:"夢の島思念公園 (Yume no Shima Shinen Kouen)"
Disturbing yet invigorating. Honestlt I wasn't disturbed.
Gurren Lagann Opening 3: Everyone's Peace
Great vocals.

Gundam 00 Season 2 OP2 ("Namida no Mukou")
Le Chevalier D'eon ("BORN")
Clannad ("Megumeru ~cuckool mix 2007~")
Chrono Crusade ("Tsubasa wa Pleasure Line")
Mnemosyne ("Alsatia")
Tales of the Abyss ("Karma")
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood ("Again") _________________

Honestly, I have a bit of a soft spot for the third Fullmetal Alchemist opening, as well as the first one of the new series (SINGING RIZA!) Other than that, the opening to Evangelion and the first opening of Bleach are my other favorites. ^^ _________________ "You don't wear eyeliner, you don't eat goffwiches, and you don't have maggots. i have to say as whole bleach and naruto (japanese naruto, not that lame naruto into that make for america) have the best intro and outros. maybe this is due to the bands (asian kung-fu fighting generation, uver world, the guys that made "After Dark", i cant think of the name) or maybe it is due to the popularaty of the show (the better the rateings, the more people watch, the more they want to make a good 1st imperstion for the new people)
ether way you look at it big name shows have big time intros (try to compare "club to death angel"'s intro to "Haruhi"'s intro and tell me the big name show doesnt get the better intro) and you also have to look at how importent the intro/outro is, if its something stupid new people are going to go "what the heck is it crap" and turn it off. and on the reverse side if its something good eoungh people will like the show even more (ie: haruhi, lucky star and im guessing kennagi now)
wow i think im ranting now sry. my top intro/outros are:
bleach: after dark
naruto: fighting dreamers (its chessey but it got me pumped to watch the show)
naruto: heros come back (it worked so well for the time)
COWBOY BEBOP!!: TANK (rule one: YOU CANT BEAT TANK! that is the best intro that anyone can come up with EVER!!!)
R.O.D tv: r.o.d ( they set out to make a james bond like song and they did it! also the video was ballin)
evangelion: za(however you spell it!) it worked so well for that show
evangelion: fly me to the moon ( WOW that song works so well for the
show. its was like BAM something shocking and explotions! and then the clam words "fly me to the moon..." start playing and you are like HOLY CRAP THAT WAS A GOOD EPISODE! _________________ TALK SOFTLY AND DRIVE A BIG MECH |

I'll try my hand
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni by Eiko Shimamiya: Opening for Higurashi no Naku Koro ni
A great song that really set the atmosphere for the first season. While her other Ops for Higurashi were great, none surpassed the feeling that this one gave me during my viewing. It mixed a mysterious tone and lyrics with a very uneasy, unsettling tempo. A favorite song of mine.
While we are on the subject.
Taishou.a by Annina: Ending for Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai
The ending from season 1 did nothing for me. However, after the first episode of season 2, I heard this. Taishou.a has a nice beautiful, almost mellow piano melody. However, its lyrics are of the gruesome variety. That parody of beauty and horror was a perfect combination for me, as it really put the season into perspective.
Lilium by Kumiko Noma: Opening for Elfen Lied
This opening is well known, as it should be. It is beautiful. Takes a beautiful Latin poem and delivers a powerful and fitting song for a powerful and depressing anime. The end of the anime opening, when the words O castitatis lilium are sung, it strikes a chord within me that perfectly sums up the feel of the anime itself.
And one more
The Cruel Angels Thesis by Yoko Takahash: Opening for Neon Genesis Evangelion
What hasn't been said about this song? One of the most catchy tunes for one of the most recognizable animes EVER. That's good in all, but what makes it so good? I like its catchy and upbeat tempo, its message that you control your destiny, and it's epic solo. The song is to Evangelion as Evangelion is to it. They both would not be as good without each other. The Cruel Angel's Thesis is the story of Evangelion all in 4 and a half minutes of catchy popiness. It tells you that the boy is there and he has a destiny to follow. In comes the solo, and the arrival of the angels. Followed by more telling of what this boys destiny is, and finally ending by saying that he needs to rise up to the challenge and grasp his destiny. It leaves it at that, as the anime does at the end. Does he achieve HIS destiny? Or the destiny he thought everyone would want? My personal favorite anime theme song of all time. _________________ I used to have a cool picture |

Saying your favs and all is good, but why not give a little information as to why you like them so much? I'm pretty interested to know why some people like certain openings and endings over others. _________________ I used to have a cool picture |

I got another one to add to the list
Cha-La Head-Cha-La by Hironobu Kageyama from Dragonball Z
Come on, the guy says Head-Cha-La, and it is so damn awesome. One of the most awesome fighting shows ever, and this song gets you pumped for the 3 episode power ups and crap filler. Oh, and the most awesome thing ever, Vegetas' Final Flash against Cell. That was epic as hell _________________ I used to have a cool picture |

Umm... After Dark IS by Asian Kung-Fu Generation. It said so in the opening credits for the Bleach Hueco Mundo arc episdoes. And on Gendou.
My favorite songs atm are the 3rd opening and closing songs for FMA Brotherhood (Golden Time Lover by Sukima Switch and Tsunaida Te by lil'B), as well as anything that Sheryl Nome (May'n) sings in Macross Frontier. _________________

No question it's Samurai Champloo. There are many anime series I've enjoyed, but that one is by far my favorite. Shojo only, my fave is Ouran High School Host Club. _________________ Car claim |

The openings to both seasons of Astro Fighter Sunred. These are funny because they completely contradict the feeling of the show but fit perfectly with the super sentai type of opening.
The songs are: "Mizunokuchi Taiyou Zoku (溝ノ口太陽族)" by manzo (season 1), and "Zoku Mizunokuchi Taiyou Zoku (続・溝ノ口太陽族)" by manzo (season 2).
They are essentially the same song but I like both of them. _________________ "Thow shall not kill remember?! What the hell kinda churchman are you anyway?"

Best opening for me is Tsukikage Ran"Leave it to the wind".It is an enka ballad performed by Akemi Misawa. There is a soft spot in my heart for Enka.

"Broken Youth" by NICO touches the walls (Naruto Shippuuden):
I like the lyrics and music video for this song. I can't help but to rock out but feel a bit for the song. Makes alot of sense to me.
"Adieu" by Maaya Sakamoto(?) and the Seatbelts (?) (Cowboy Bebop):
Jazzy/Blues type song that I love listening to when it gets to be a relaxing moment for me.
"Shiawase no Iro" (Can't remember artist) (Ah! My Goddess):
The bag pipes. Really thats what got me hooked to this song because it fit well with the artist's voice.
"Cautionary Warning" by John Sykes (Legend of Black Heaven) (British Song)
Good rock song, the guitar is freakin awesome.
"Chiisana Tenohira" by Riya/Eufonius (both versions) (Clannad):
A nice mellow depressing song that I listen to every now and then.
I have more but its a long list, I listen to alot of japanese music everyday. I also know that some of these aren't necessarily openings and endings but most OP and ED aren't as good as the BGMs of the series. _________________

Shine (The ending to Hellsing)- I think this is a great song because its calming and upbeat...though it doesn't really fit w/the anime lol I still like ti
Tori no Uta by Lia (The opening to AirTV)-I think this is a good song because it makes me want to fly haha I guess that was the point they were going for so it fits well w/the anime.
Life is like a boat by Rie Fu (The first ending to Bleach)-Just an overall good song
Resonance by T.M. Revolution (The opening to Soul Eater)- Love the techno in this song very upbeat...always makes me want to dance
Logos Naki World by RavenWings (The opening to Hellsing)-Just like the beat of this song and of course since its from my fav anime makes it 10x cooler lol
Kesenai Tsumi by Susumu Nishikawa (I think it the second ending to FMA)- I really really really really LOVE this song...Its even the ringtone that plays when I get txt messages...I think it fits very well w/the anime _________________ -Team Alucard

Favorite Opening - toss up between Tank - Cowboy Bebop or Haruka Kanata -Naruto
Favorite Ending - Still Doll - Vampire Knight _________________ Being a geek is all about being honest about what you enjoy and not being afraid to demonstrate that affection.
