At the moment it's more like "Current Favorite Band". I've been heavily into the German progressive rock band Everon, having just bought four of their CDs: Venus, Fantasma, Bridge, and Flesh.
I love the combination of the symphonic prog rock, the poetry of the lyrics, and singer Oliver Philipps' expressive voice. _________________

Reign In Blood - Slayer
This is possibly one of the greatest metal albums ever made, it is also one my favorite albums. I listen to it almost everyday and it still hasn’t gotten old. _________________ "Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. Violet by The Birthday Massacre
This is a hybrid rock/psychedelic/pop album. The lead singer is a girl who goes from Poppy sounding to downright sinister almost growling singing. Very moody. Think of it as Opeth-ish, but with a girl, and its pop/suedo metal instead. Its frikkin awesome.
Standout song is Blue. _________________ I used to have a cool picture |

Recently I got the Nightmare Revisited CD through the library and uploaded that. I could listen to that CD over and over again, because not only is Danny Elfman a genius in the first place for composing that soundtrack, but all the bands do a really good job of doing the songs in their own style. (Yoshida Brothers playing NBC song? Count me in!) _________________ Feel free to talk to me, I may be an adult, but I have the mind of a child.

The Tall Ships - It Bites
New album from a recently resurrected band, the style is AOR with a progressive sensibility. Songs aren't very complicated, but the writing is excellent and they're infectious, worthy of repeated listenings. _________________

Blood - OSI
Third album from the project of Jim Matheos (Fates Warning) and Kevin Moore (ex-Dream Theater), this time with Gavin Harrison (Porcupine Tree) on drums. Their usual combination of electronics and rock/metal, this time with a heavier slant. _________________

Holographic Universe by Scar Symmetry
In my opinion it is SS best album. The HUGE vocal range by the lead singer is matched by the awesome contrast between light and dark passages in the music, and the awesome solos by the guitarists. If you like metal, check this band out. You will NOT be disappointed. _________________ I used to have a cool picture |

Legends Of Monta, Part II - Odd Logic
Sequel to the first Monta album, concluding the fantasy story about the struggle to save a world from invaders. Odd Logic is a gem of independent music, all written, performed, and produced by one man, but with the quality of a full scale band. _________________

Ever since the Disturbed concert, this was the only album I ever listened to. Everything in the songs are amazing. From the lyrics to the beautiful guitar and bass sound. * 3* _________________ #1 YUGItard and Ryuuk's wife. |

Black Clouds & Silver Linings - Dream Theater
The 10th studio album by the godfathers of progressive metal. Except for A Rite of Passage (which deals with secret societies), every track is about personal experiences, such as a car crash, writers block, and a scary encounter during childhood. Six tracks with four of them epics in true DT style. _________________

It's just that damn good.
As for me
The Sound of Perseverance by Death
Deaths last album, and their best. This has the amazing instrumental Voice of The Soul, and the crushing and brutal Spirit Crusher. That thing that makes it as good as it is though is the cover of Judas Priests Painkiller. Words cannot do this album enough justice. _________________ I used to have a cool picture |

It is an amazing find and it has some songs form familiar Jrock groups like High and Mighty Colour, Orange Range, and UVERworld.
It's alot better than the OST that I was originally looking for. _________________ "Even with your eyes shut, there is still a whole world out there that exists beyond your dreams." - A young Alchemist

It is SO amazingly crafted. Rivers Cuomo is a freaking GENIUS.
I used to only like it cuz the songs sounded good... I can't believe I never saw it before.
Now I truly understand why people call it a masterpiece... _________________ This has been cleared out by Ichigo. Feel free to redo your sig, but the limit for images is one, and keep the size under a meg, or I will clean it out again. Thanks. |
