Languages vary over time and place as you know. So I want to know what you call Coke, sprite, 7 up, mountain dew etc.
Pop?
Sodapop?
Coke?
Softdrink?
In southern Ontario, we call them pop. :D _________________

I call coke, coke and sprite, sprite. But when I use general terms, I switch back and forth from soda to pop. A majority of people in the south, in the U.S., say soda, while people in the north tend to say pop. It varies of course. _________________

I've always used soda as the generic term.
What about other things that people would use different names for depending on their region? Like sub sandwiches. I say subs, but other people might say hoagies or grinders, etc. _________________

Soda for me. I never understood calling it "pop"; it always sounds rediculous when people calli it that. _________________ HAS ANYONE SEEN MY BUNNY?

I'm also from upstate New York, and where I live we call it pop. I know people from Rochester area who call it pop, but that is not what we use in the far north. _________________

Well if we aren't specifying what kind of pop then...well I already gave it away but we call it pop here, seldom I hear soda but we get the point in good ol' South Dakota. _________________

I've noticed that. I've from the north so I grew up saying pop. Now that I've moved south I find myself saying soda more often because that's what I hear all the time. _________________ Being a geek is all about being honest about what you enjoy and not being afraid to demonstrate that affection. Soda is the general term that I use. When I'm being specific then I just use the actual name of the drink in question. _________________
