Hellsing Ultimate, Glass Mask, Kanon, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, the upcoming Hunter x Hunter... These are just a few of the anime that have been "rebooted," usually to follow the original manga or to give a fresh adaptation to a story. Reboots may be rare in Japan, but I was curious what other series fans might like to see "rebooted" sometime in the coming years?
Given the upcoming two-part Rurouni Kenshin OVA to be released in Japan, a part of me would really like to see the entire original manga animated and adapted into a new TV series. Do I think it's likely to happen? Probably not -- but you never know.
I also would welcome a new Fruits Basket anime to follow the original manga, which became much darker compared to the earlier volumes (from which the original anime was adapted). _________________ HAS ANYONE SEEN MY BUNNY?

I'm going to post an obvious one here and say Gantz, as anyone who has read the manga knows, it gets pretty epic later on. _________________

They did finish the series its call inuyasha final cut.
I would like to see trigun rebooted to follow the manga closer, as for anime that need endings I want to see claymore, berserk and princess jellyfish get endings the most. _________________ “I plan on obliterating all of mankind down to the very last speck of dust. With the new Macross: The First Manga by Mikimoto and the changes that he has made style and design wise I think a reboot or revisiting of the original Macross would be really cool. I would also love the see something like Riding Bean or Gunsmith Cats have some retooling. I think I would also like to see more or a reboot of Giant Robo. _________________ "Don't draw fire; it irritates the people around you." |

I think they might be rebooting Gantz the Manga. I am not 100% sure Ichigo might be able to correct me but I saw a Manga "Brick" of Gantz at Animate this past weekend with Reboot sprawled all over the cover. _________________ "Don't draw fire; it irritates the people around you." |

Soul Eater, hell they can even call it Soul Eater: Brotherhood and I'd be fine with it. They should just wait until the manga is close to ending to create something a little more concise. _________________

I would LOVE to see Revolutionary Girl Utena redone, just to see it with modern animation quality, and perhaps a little better soundtrack sound quality. Not that the original isn't great - but, given the advances in making animation super-shiny, it would probably be amazingly gorgeous if redone. Also I feel like the soundtrack could be tweaked to sound a little richer - I dig the crazy dueling songs, but take the Movie and stand it up next to the series and the sound of the Movie is so much better.
I'm noticing that alot of people just want an anime to have a different ending or course of events, but in my case it's purely visual and aural aesthetics I would want updated. I think if Utena were redone I would be terrified that the story would get mutilated/oversimplified and we would be left yet again with a "looks great, awful story" item. |

i thought this said Anime Robots instead of Anime Reboots.
i would've liked to see anime robots go to the DMV. or like grocery shopping or cleaning gutters. something relatable.
sorry. _________________ "We are here to laugh at the odds and live our lives so well that Death will tremble to take us." |

I'd like to see a proper, FULL SERIES reboot of Berserk, not just a bunch of movies. Also a full series reboot of my favorite manga, Angel Sanctuary, instead of the very brief OVA that barely covered the first arc. _________________

IAWTC. I NEVER expected to like Berserk, but ended up really enjoying it and when the anime just ended I was totally bummed.
I had almost forgotten about the Angel Sanctuary OVA - it's what got me started reading the manga and yeah, it was WAY too short. |

I second that and would like to see Uresai Yatsura as well. As dumb as this may sound I would like a dragon ball remake, completely redrawn completely with modern animation instead of trying to alter the original footage over and over again. _________________ “I plan on obliterating all of mankind down to the very last speck of dust.
