That was an interesting interview. About the quality of dubs--they are actually vastly improved from the early days. Just listen to the dub of Speed Racer & you'll see what I mean. They voice actors back then tended to talk too fast, & it ruined their performances. When I saw Cowboy Bebop dubbed I thought, Finally! They did it right. Even the DBZ dub, for all its' faults, sounds better than the early dubs.
About video ipods--I have one, & when I first bought it I wondered if the small screen would do the video justice. Actually, it does. It's a very detailed & bright picture. Everything shows up well. I was disappointed that there isn't much anime content on itunes, but hopefully that will change.
I would love to see Japanese & Korean live-action & TV-series. I have the Kamikaze Girls movie, & I love it. So I do think that could be the next big thing. And I really don't mind subtitles. I've been watching foreign films subtitled for years.
Again, great interview. It's obvious that O'Donnell knows & loves anime. I like people like that, the people who do what they love & share it with other people.

I thouroughly enjoyed that interview. Very well done. I liked his thoughts on dubbing and fansubbing. And the "World Peace through shared popular culture" motto is a good one.
Could have done with more rangi-chan though. _________________ This has been cleared out by Ichigo. Feel free to redo your sig, but the limit for images is one, and keep the size under a meg, or I will clean it out again. Thanks. |
