I was wondering if guys might add a chatbox to the forum. I've noticed them on a few other site recently and thought that getting one on the AP site might help add to the community and maybe pickup action on the forums.

the IRC channel is where chat was supposed to happen... but no one is on anymore. you know who you are.

So I'm guessing creating a chat box in the forums would require a change in the actual forum? Or is it just not possible? Lol it's sort of been 2yrs since this was posted, I don't mean to necro I just dint want to ask the same question twice.

Really though interacting with other people is kina hard in the forums since it's going to be limited what we can or can't say. I mean I can only see the community get stronger if we did.

It increases bandwidth costs and slows down the site depending on a few situations. It wouldn't be too hard to add coding wise.

Chatboxes are very hard to control and track as well, they're an annoyance of the past most site admins won't touch with a 10 foot pole.
