Might I make another suggestion: The Elder Scrolls Musicast. Just putting that out there. Oblivion is my favorite game of all-time.

Shouldn't we start with Pong, then work our way up Menos? I agree that there are lots of games that have come out recently that have amazing sound tracks, but we should start at the bottom, then work our way up. I would love to hear the two Blinx the Timesweeper game Soundtracks, but I'm more than willing to wait for them. And if anyone can find an actual copy of the second games soundtrack, let me know. It is a bitch to find.

I know I'll lose my gamers membership card, but I hate FF VII. It is just too over done. Music is cool, but the game is just way to over blown. It had a movie, spin-offs, crosses, and way more that just destroyed the notoriety of the game.
Though Kingdom Hearts is still pretty cool...

Why I believe FF7 was great:
1. Great central cast that actually developes through the story, which some of the FFs can't really claim. Even the optional characters have their own detailed stories.
2. Above average story. Tackles a lot of issues the others really don't. As a matter of fact, it might very well be the only FF where the characters recognize they aren't part of a flawless crusade of justice.
3. One of the better protagonists/antagonists of the series. Sephiroth is the first villain to get any real development & Cloud isn't just about "beat the bad guy" or "get over some minor hang-up & beat the bad guy." He has recurring flaws & there's a solid reason for their conflict.
4. Similarly, unlike in other games, the initial villains don't just become completely irrelevent after Sephiroth comes along.
Sure the gameplay doesn't really hold up to today's standards, but the story and the music is what made me fall in love with FF7. When I first popped that baby in as a child, you couldn't get me off of that game. I would always put headphones on and enjoy the wonderful music. Partly to block out the constant yelling in the household between my parents.

Very good points made. While those points do make it better than most, I just found the focus put onto it to be far to much. It's like Sonic, Mario, Halo, and so on: it is a series that Square Enix just doesn't want to let die because it made them rich the first time. If it didn't have all these extras, I would still love the game.
