Plenty of speculation around it. Some of the things I heard.
-It takes place in San Andreas (this seems pretty obvious)
-That it may include multiple main storylines and characters that have their paths intersecting.
-Possible MCs being "Silent" Claude from GTAIII, CJ from GTA:SA, and Tommy Vercetti from GTA:VC (Being that people believe the narrator for the trailer is Ray Liotta, who voiced Tommy)
-Takes place around present day due to many factors; looks like the economy is shits (lots of businesses closing down/blowout sales, house foreclosures, tons of homeless people/beggars), as well as a few cars look more modern that if it was set earlier. _________________

I have played many GTA games, but this takes the cake. I like it. It looks like it will have more story and depth to it than it's previous brothers/sisters. _________________ Don't lose your inner light. |

The trailer does what it's supposed to which is, get us aware and interested about this upcoming game. The fact that the trailer has been made with in game graphics tells us that it is going to come out in 2012, possibly October. However the graphics scream GTA IV so I'm hoping there is more polish by the time it gets a release date. Also we have no idea who the central character is. And lastly I'm a bit disappointed that it takes place in San Andreas for no other reason than I wanted a new locale that we have never been in, and I realize that it will be completely different than it's 2004 counterpart. So yes I'm excited but I'll have my reservations about it for a little while until more information comes out. _________________

Graphics look pretty sweet, but the story sounds like all the other stories. Guy wants out of his old life, goes to a new place, gets pulled back into his old life, ect ect.
Unless they have made major changed to the game play mechanics, then there will be no difference to the previous Grand Theft Auto.
I can already see it, people play the first ten or so minuets of the plot and then go and collect secrets, steal cars, crash cars, steal more cars, get chased by police, wash rinse and repeat. _________________
