I'm suprised no one has mentioned BORIS(boris), Otenki, Morning Musume, or Aya Matsura. _________________ This has been cleared out by Ichigo. Feel free to redo your sig, but the limit for images is one, and keep the size under a meg, or I will clean it out again. Thanks. |

I like Utada Hikaru, UVERworld, Orange Range, and Namie Amuro. For just general Japanse music that isn't necessarily JPop I like Yoko Kanno, Masuda Toshio, and Yoshida Brothers (if you want something that would seem familiar, try their song "Nabbed" from the Nightmare Revisited soundtrack. They do a Nightmare Before Christmas song. Fabulous). _________________

Girugamesh. End of story.
It seems Visual Kei helps spawn a lot of good bands that leave it.
They be quite heavy, while melodic at the same time. They have breakdowns and harsh vocals, and nice harmonies and beautiful singing. _________________ I used to have a cool picture |

I LOVE takacha! Movin!! is one of my favourite songs, especially bleach-wise. I also like Uverworld too. I second these wholeheartedly
Also, i would recommend anything by Suga Shikao (start with 19sai and Nobody Knows) and Seamo (full version and TV size version) Honey Honey (ONE OF MY FAVOURITES!).
If your more into rock then i suggest bands like L'arc en Ciel or Versailles.
If your interested in J-pop but don't want it really cheesy then someting like Scandal (like Shoujo S- bleach opening/ending) or for something slower with piano type stuff Angela Aki (begin with either Tashika ni for a more upbeat song or Tegami for a slow medolic feel).
Hope this helps _________________ if you wanna check out what ive read and seen click on the following links:

Speaking of Dir en Grey, I saw them open up for The Deftones a year or so ago. They were all right I guess. The band (lead singer especially) put a lot of energy into their set, which I definitely appreciate, but I can't say I really liked any of the songs or had one stand out for me. Probably didn't help that the majority of the crowd was really there for The Deftones though. _________________ Most discipline is hidden discipline, designed not to liberate but to limit. All four are absolutely awesome.
Also, check out Asobe Seksu. They're an awesome bi-lingual-pop group from New York (I think). They're lead singer is Japanese. |
I have to agree Asobi Seksu is really awesome! *And yes, they're from NYC* I just have to add a few...
1. Dir en grey (esp. Vulgar, Missa and Withering to Death)
2. girugamesh
3. GACKT (the song Redemption was on FFVII - Dirge of Cerberus)
4. MUCC (I have the song Utagoe, and I LOVE it!)
5. D'espairsray
6. Maximum the Hormone (they did the 2nd season opening/closing for Death Note)
7. Malice Mizer
8. Moi dix Mois (mana's solo project)
~And don't forget this one!~
9. LUNA SEA (esp. the song Rosier *'tis so LOVELY*)
(Quick Fix: You wanted more of a 'pop' sound, right? If you go w/ Diru, opt for songs like 'The Final', 'Mushi', etc.) _________________ >私はオタクの悪魔午前< |

| I enjoy Asian Kung Fu Generation and Stereopony more than any American band I can think of. Their style of music is upbeat and very emotionally driven. |
