Ok, a good idea was raised. I've set up a donation fund. Click the button below to donate money to help theOtaku.com buy the prizes that they were defrauded out of by AnimeFF. All monies received through this button will go directly to theOtaku.com (minus Paypal fees). I will leave it up until either we received the needed amount or a corporate sponsor steps up for theOtaku.com.

In the case that a corporate sponsor steps up to pay the full amount, I will contact anyone who donated and give them the three following options:
1. Refund the donation (minus paypal fees)
2. Send that money to theOtaku.com anyways.
3. Apply the money to an Anime-Pulse.com subscription.

Note: Anime Pulse will match contributions up to (at this point) $300.

Donated: $500
AP Match: $300
Total: $800
Target: $2700

Those people should be ashamed of themselves! Who would want to go to a con for charity after that. I know i would think twice. I donated $10. (sorry I'm a college student)

Unfortunately, scams like this are happening all the time. Best we can do is be wary. When the scumbags do catch you off guard there are ways to recover.

Because this scam ran under the name of a charity, Adam should report this incident to the Attorney General of Nevada, if he has not already. It is possible for him to call a fraud on AnimeFF without the expense of hiring lawyers.

I decided to donate for the following reasons:

1. I gotta admit this sucks, and such a great personal expense is just horrible especially if you were trying to help a good cause.

2. gingerkitty wouldn't take my money (I'm not going any farther unless gingerkitty lets me)

-maybe I shouldn't have tried paying her in rubles.

arghruwatwgwrtw >< I was so upset when I heard episode 66... and a lot of my favorite artists from dA entered that contest and I'm sure most other entrants worked forever on their contest pieces. So I'm donating $15 (though wjie123@aol.com >>; oh gosh I have too many email addresses // paypal accounts @_@) to help those "starving artists".. since even though I am one myself, I'm lucky enough to be able to mooch off parents
