AS a devoted fan of Haku, I can add nothing to this debate. Boy. _________________

Almost none of the posts here are actually trying to debate this out, which is obviously what this thread is here for.
Cmon guys? where's the love?
I personally think Haku is a boy, and here's why:
1 Haku says he's a boy, and then there's no talk afterward in the manga that disputes this, I think that if Haku had been a girl the they would have revealed it just as Zabuza and Haku were laid next to each other as they died.
2 Kishimoto has not had something to say about the matter. This means to me that either he wants the fans to make their own decisions(meaning that he doesn't really care), or that his stance in the manga is final and that there's nothing really to discuss because he's already told us.
However, I will point out some things that make little or no sense to me if he was a boy.
1 Naruto refers to Haku as "nee-chan" or "sis" continually while in the forest. Haku does not seem bothered by this and continues to talk to Naruto as if nothing is wrong, it's only as he's leaving that he corrects Naruto, almost as if it's an afterthought.
2 Haku's speech about turning into a weapon for Zabuza while fighting Naruto and Sasuke. Here's my view on this subject. which is more likely? Would somebody kill other people, against their wishes(Haku states that he dislikes killing and violence), for their father/father figure? probably not. Would someone kill people for the person they're in love with(and i'm not talking family love here either, i'm talking full blown love)? Slightly more probable.
These are just some things i found suspicious if Haku was a boy, but made sense as a girl.
I think Kishimoto just needed a mystery character that people were/would be curious about early in his work, but then came up with better material and Haku's mystery became unimportant. _________________ Knowing the love of your life is great, but being the love of their life is greater. |
