Recently I have been noticing large amounts of spam that have been filling the Melting Pot forum, and the response time of moderators is not what it use to be. This is understandable.

Anime Pulse has been out for awhile now. And as time passes, people lose interest and grow older and get jobs (hopefully not too many lose interest). Some of these people may or may not be moderators, and due to an increasing number of spamers on this site that action must be taken.

I say its time to increase the number of online moderators, this of course is not for me to decide of course. But if Ichigo is reading this, or any other site moderator, then I strongly suggest that you think about this.

I am also leaving a poll running to see the number of site members and or moderators who agree and disagree.

I very much so understand that holding the position such as site moderator takes allot, and that the title should be earned and not just handed out. Again, not my decision.

Changing to a commercial forum software won't stop spammers. And these aren't bots. These are people that are making it past CAPTCHAs and email verification. Nothing will stop that other than turning the board to admin approval instead of email. And that means that Batou, Rangi or I would have to approve every new registration. I'd rather have some spam for a couple hours than having to do that. It seems to me that our mods do a good job. When I see it I delete it, when others do they do. Also, use the Blue button, which sends and email to the mods of that forum so they know something needs to be looked at.

Orginally there were 5 forum Gods and 1Group moderator. Now there are moderators for each forum topic.
I have noticed that few are using the buttons that are set up for warnings. Like this morning, a few members
posted to porn posts with please delete. The features that were added to the posts were put there to flag
the moderators. The moderators assigned to the forums and the forum Gods.

Also, on the off chance that there are some bots that have broken phpbb's captcha, I've just instituted a new captcha this morning called reCAPTCHA so we'll see if that helps.

I must have not paid attention in AP class, I never knew about the blue buttons. In fact, I was just wondering about them this morning. Deciding wether or not to press it and see what happens. Thanks for reading my post Ichigo and Faith, means allot to me. *Tear*
