Last Halloween related topic of the year and let's cut the chase. What are the scariest anime characters you can think of for any reason?

I am going to have to go with the wide array of monstrous creatures seen in Berserk. The anime movies and series (and manga) are full of horrific and grotesque monstrosities, bordering on nightmare-inducing. I can't recall any other anime that comes even close.
