VG Pulse 75: Rocking Out

In this weeks episode the news is not all that exciting, except if you would like GTA V to be announced. We look into the teaser image with great care. We go over other stuff and make due in this slow news time of the holiday release season. In the forums we look into your thoughts on midnight releases. Then its off to the review and it is a special one. Today I review Ubisofts entry to the music game genre, Rocksmith. Since it uses a real guitar to play, my guitar makes an appearance as well. I use my Schecter C-1 Hellraiser and Carvin V3M during the review as backup. Good times, Listen in to find out. Continue reading “VG Pulse 75: Rocking Out”

New York Anime Festival and New York Comic Con 2011

The New York Anime Festival and New York Comic Con 2011 was October 14-16 this year at the Javits Center. The attendance was up significantly compared to previous years. This year might have had the largest attendance in the past 4 years.

But while the attendance was up and the size was larger, the Anime Festival portion of the show was smaller than it had been in previous years. If fact it was pushed up into an attic-like section of the convention center that it could be said few knew it existed. It also only seemed to consist of the Artist Alley. At the same time many of the vendors that would have attended the Anime Festival had it been a separate show like it had it years past, would have also attended Comic Con.

As can be seen in the pictures the sizes of the booths and creativity was also up compared to previous years. More game testing, competitions, and free giveaways than ever. Manga and Anime was mixed through out the Comic Con floor. So while the two shows have mixed together to the point where it could just be called the New York Comic Con, anime is not shrinking, but just falling under the umbrella of Comic Con.

VG Pulse 74: Silver Crysis

This week is an interesting one. It is DarkGods birthday on Saturday. So I suprise her with something. Kaz is also in the mix and it is a good thing because there is not much news. So we do what we do best, we ramble on. Give us a break though, we all were falling asleep. The one big news item we cover is Mojang’s vitory over Bethesda. We go over the forums to find out what games gave you headaches. Then two older games get a review. It’s Pokemon silver and Crysis this time. Good times, Listen in to find out. Four score and seven episodes ago we began a show. Ok maybe 4 years ago but who’s counting… We are and next episode is 200. I know that’s not important to this episode but I mention it for a reason. There will be many a prize in 200 and I just want to prepare everyone. At least one contest will involve reading this part of the next episode soooooooooo……..

Collapse of the World as We Know It – Even if you receive it as a present, burn the book and piss on the ashes.
Patlabor – Read it Now. Continue reading “Manga Pulse 199: The One Before 200”

VG Pulse 73: Raging Out

Kaz is out this week with internet fail. However there is a good amount of stuff to cover this week, so we make due. We start out this journey with the email section. Yeah just one, but it proves that our emails are still working. Then its off to the news. It is a sad time indeed as we start with the story that broke as we were doing the show last week. We cover from Steve Jobs to Mojang lawsuit theory to the fate of Qwikster. Theres even more rumors out there surrounding another Halo movie, we don’t buy it. Then it is off to the forums and your thoughts on Boss Battles. Then not to be out done, I review ID softwares Rage. Spoilerific to the end. I say why in the review and give time stamp for all who don’t want to hear. This review will suprise many people. Then to end the show we ramble on over AMD/Intel fanboys and a new anime that i saw that contained two main charicters that do not suffer from weaksauce, shocking I know. Good times inside, Listen in to find out. Continue reading “VG Pulse 73: Raging Out”
