Manga Pulse 547: Deep Store

For all the countries that are merely mental illnesses, we forgive you for daring to celebrate Thanksgiving on some other day. It’s a bold choice to be so openly wrong but it’s Thanksgiving week here in the real world. For that you should give thanks that we did a manga episode once more. We are ever generous with our gifts. Does the false bravado come across as genuine. We’ve been working on it.

Tim’s up with The Concierge at Hokkyoku Department Store. He says he chose it because of the art style which stands out from most other manga. We like to think he did so because it reminds him of working in retail. It’s an episodic series based on the concept of a department store that caters to animal customers. With the most important ones being extinct ones that show up and get preferential treatment. It gets a Borders.

Weltall has Mujina Into the Deep. It’s the sort of future where people can be bought and sold. If you don’t have rights, you’re a Mujina and no laws apply to you. But like in the Purge, that works both ways and means you can do whatever you want. Some people choose to use this status wisely by insider trading and things. The dumb dumbs decide to become super assassins and leap around murdering people. It gets a Read It Now.
