Just wanted to say about Persona : Trinity Soul it is directly a sequel to the PS2 rpg by Atlus called Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3. Where as im sure you wont want to sit and play through an rpg game to help ya understand the show any more, Maybe you could check out the wikipedia page for persona 3? May clear some of the weird stuff up for you and hopefully get you more interested into the show.
However, If you do want to sit through an rpg game, Persona 3 is amazing. :)
