  1. I’m the only one who answered with a reviewed anime in a discussion thread question that asked for unreviewed anime – and it was my own question! Embarrassing! I did check the list first for “So Ra No Wo To” (like the way the title is styled), “Sora no Woto” (what the title is spelling), and “Sound of the Sky” (the title translated). I somehow didn’t notice “Sora no Oto” – I still get tricked by that o/wo thing. I could have chosen something else had I noticed.

I’ve listened all the way back to episode 235, and I’ve recently started from episode 1 onwards, so Sora no Oto’s preview in episode 215 and half-season review in episode 223 are about as far as possible on my schedule. I went and listened to just those two segments tonight, and I feel that both were fair. Ichigo rated the series as Netflix, but he said that this was because he felt that there was a lack of a real story. Both the preview and the review may well have been disadvantaged by being in the shadow of Durarara, which has an exciting storyline, but I also think that the series doesn’t rely on an ongoing story for the most part. Both this and the art style are comparable to K-On, but I felt the atmosphere and setting were more compatible to Haibane Renmei, which is also about a girl learning about the people in her new surroundings.

I’ve heard all of TimeChaser’s AP reviews, and I still believe that there is a strong likelihood that he would enjoy this. It’s not for everyone, and I think that RedUnit10 wouldn’t get much out of it, but I’m glad that I watched it. And at only 14 episodes, it’s not too daunting of a time commitment.

  2. I’m not getting them confused; RedUnit10 might just be the anti-TC, and it’s nice to have the diversity. One reason that Red probably wouldn’t enjoy it so much is that it has an all-female main cast, which is a quality that he’s specifically said that he doesn’t like. (Tragically, that means that Red is also unlikely to watch Madoka Magica, which is debatably the best anime of 2011.)
