I’m here to tell you you’re WR- no, you’re absolutely right. Pulp characters like The Shadow inspired the creation of Batman, without a doubt.
The Shadow did not have powers in the comics, though. This is an honored tradition of Hollywood powering up heroes who don’t need powering up.
I did like The Shadow over The Phantom, but the Phantom movie did its job; it inspired me to become interested in the character. Remember the Defenders of the Earth cartoon, or the Phantom cartoon? I do. I do.
Why do we need to claim that our pizza is the best? New York pizza is just the best. What’s the best pizza? It ain’t Midwest pizza, for sure. Not Cali pizza, and Chicago tries, but they can’t match a big-ass slice of NY pizza.
