I probably wouldn’t even say Kill La Kill takes a ‘left turn’ if you’ve seen Shounen shows. Can’t speak for Shinji but I found Hiro to be a plank of wood so I don’t reckon he fares much better.
Do agree that stuff was over hyped though in my opinion everything was in regards to Darling in the Franxx, it just attracts that type of crowd.
