Popcorn Pulse 238: Under Gorge

They say there are two sides to every story. Two angles that everything can be viewed by. Considering the potential for the non-euclidean nature of metaphysics, there’s probably more than that. However we’re interested in the two sides that make up our movie. We have The Gorge[2024].

Miles Teller plays a very sad former soldier. He was a sniper, has no family, and no spouse. This makes him a candidate to go on a super secret squirrel mission. He agrees and gets whisked away to the titular gorge. It’s not so bad as he’s across from Anya Taylor-Joy and has a pair of binoculars. Also a ton of ammunition and orders to shoot at anything that comes up from the opening in the earth.

Weltall has Secret Level[2024], season one. The TV series that is episodic shows with each being a take on a particular video game property. So there’s a Pac-Man episode and one on Unreal Tournament. The highlight for Weltall was the Armored Core episode with Keanu Reeves. We don’t ask why Keanu has become the patron saint of futuristic dystopias but we don’t ask.

Tim has Under Suspicion(1992). No, not the Gene Hackman movie. Though you might see him in a thumbnail if you look for this on a certain streaming service. It’s the Liam Neeson film set in the sixties. Neeson is a disgraced cop who now works as a private investigator. Mostly he works as a sort of divorce fixer when you needed proper cause to get one. This goes sideways when a famous painter hires him and ends up dead.
