Popcorn Pulse 246: Want Inside

We have bad news for you, bank teller person. The robbery is coming from inside the bank! Of course robberies usually happen inside a bank if they are bank robberies. Ones conducted outside of them are can be classified as cash in transit heists if the thieves are stealing from the vehicle itself. Important notes if you’re planning on being listed on the FBI’s list of most wanted bank robbers. That way you can say you were on the scoreboard when you’re in federal prison.

In that vein Weltall has Inside Man[2006]. The Clive Owen and Denzel Washington movie directed by Spike Lee about a bank heist. Only it’s not any kind of bank heist, hostages are taken and no demands are made. With the lead robber, played by Owen, telling the hostage negotiator that he will walk out the front door when he’s good and ready.

So naturally they made a sequel Inside Man: Most Wanted[2019]. No one is back from the first one but they have a lady who’s supposed to be Clive Owen’s sister. She’s doing the same shtick on the Federal Reserve. Why? Because some neo-nazi Germans want gold that was confiscated during WWII from the nazis. Why was it held in the reserve and left with the nazi strike marks? Who knows or cares.

Tim then has The Illusionist[2006]. This is the other movie about a magician that came out when The Prestige was killing it. Like the Prestige, the Illusionist was based on a written piece of literature. It features Edward Norton as a magician who has a boner for a noble lady who is engaged to the crown prince of Austria-Hungary. There’s also an inspector who is inspecting after Norton on behalf of the prince.
