Manga Pulse 533: Riku’s Summer

Behold, I lay in repose absorbing delightful rays from this picture box. Or at least I believe it emits rays. These flattened screens make not have the same properties of the proper tubes which I’m fond of. You there, servant, bring me more grapes that have been fermented and stored until they contain a delicious amount of alcohol. No, I do not recognize this person you brought, Carol, as being a leader. Even if it is only this Garden of Olives.

Tim has Shuujin Riku. It’s set in Japan in the near future after an asteroid strike has leveled a good portion of Tokyo. Almost ten years after that happens, the titular Riku lives within the devestation. For some reason, this has been walled off and a bunch of people live within there. Riku then charged for murder of a police officer and is sent to a brutal prison. Not sure why this required a, likely, intersolar collision is never explained. It gets a Crackers.

Weltall has The Summer Hikaru Died. The story cuts right to the chase where we meet Yoshiki and Hikaru. Hikaru isn’t really Hikaru and is, in fact, something else which has taken the appearance or the body of Hikaru. No one else seems to know and Yoshiki isn’t telling anyone because at least he sort of still has a friend. It gets a Borders.
