Look, we really like going back through film catalogs of famous actors. But if death could just slow it the heck down for a bit. Maybe go collect some mosquitoes instead. Because there are only so many losses we can take and the Academy’s “in memoriam” isn’t going to get them all at this rate. So we just said goodbye to Robert Duvall and decided to do something that was around but was not the Godfather.
We have The Outfit(1973), a movie based on a novel. Which Tim has a few interesting, he swears, tidbits about the author and character. Duvall is getting out of jail after he and his brother had robbed a bank. Unlucky for them, the bank was owned by the titular Outfit. The Outfit has Duvall’s brother whacked so now he’s out for revenge.
Tim then has Fuzz(1972). It’s a lot of character actors but mostly features Burt Reynolds. It’s about a ragtag precinct of cops who are wacky, for the seventies, characters. They’re investigating disparate crimes and goofy things happen, With a larger crime of someone killing NYC politicians when their ransom demands aren’t being met.
Weltall then goes back to the weird time with Dark Shadows[2013]. It’s a Tim Burton movie based on a soap opera from the seventies. So naturally it stars Johnny Depp doing Johnny Depp things and Helena Bohnam Carter has a part. It’s good to take a whole bunch of money and time and waste it making a movie nobody will appreciate. Thank goodness it’s also ugly and set in the seventies.
