We’ve got three movies as we often do. What we don’t usually have is a movie that has three titles for a joint review. So without a lot of ado we’re going to talk about The Scoundrel’s Wife[2002](Also The Home Front or The Smuggler’s Wife). You should be able to find it to watch on the Tube. The director had a 4K restoration done and made available because it’s basically unwatchable otherwise.
It’s a movie set in World War 2. It starts just before the attack on Pearl Harbor. It’s set in Louisiana where our protagonist, Camille, is a single mother. She has a daughter and son and her husband is dead. The attack on Pearl Harbor happens, war were declared, and she’s busy trying to make ends meet. Tim Curry is also in it but not used nearly enough.
Weltall then has Sex and Death 101[2007]. Simon Baker plays Roderick Blank. He’s set to get married until he gets a list of women’s names. Which he figures out is a list of all women that he’s going to have slept with in his life. He also figures out that there’s a bunch of names he hasn’t met yet. So he starts running through the names and banging his way through things.
Tim then has The Vanishing(1993). It’s a remake of a French film and one of Sandra Bullocks first movies though she’s got a very small part. She plays a girlfriend that disappears while Kiefer Sutherland is fighting a burrito in the bathroom. So he loses his mind and spends the next few years trying to figure out what happened to her. Turns out Jeff Bridges killed her and buried her in his driveway because he wanted to try being evil.
