Happy New Year! We’ve got an epic episode for you this time. I’m joined by guests Katana and Timechaser. We answer lots of listener questions from both Anime Pulse and theOtaku.com. Then we discuss the new regulations in Tokyo and review Allison to Lillia and Detroit Metal City. Definitely don’t miss this one.

  1. I am almost the entire opposite of Ichigo when it comes to watching anime. I DON’T want to own the anime I watch, unless it’s absolutely in my favorite anime of my whole watching experience.

I don’t need the clutter of DVDs. I’d rather stream them or rent DVDs.

Also, I would like to say that the limitations you attribute to streaming anime are not entirely true anymore. Hulu and Crunchyroll, for example, allow you to pause what you were watching and come back later to the exact same spot.

Also, unless you’re on dial-up, exactly how many buffering issues do you run into? Maybe on ANN’s player, because I think it has had a lot of hick-ups, but I rarely have those issues.

I know some people don’t want to watch anime on TV, but in this age, my tv is literally my computer monitor. My HDTV has a built in input to connect to my computer, so I am not looking at some little computer screen. Maybe watching on a laptop is a hassle.

  2. Next time especially with distanced recordings, maybe you can try to prepare earphones/headphones to avoid echoes and feedback. (I think a lot of the poor sound quality came from Time Chaser though since it happened more when he was speaking)

  3. Well, Its not surprising we had some sound issue since this was our very first time doing anything like this. Even so, I think our quality was quite good, but yes, we’ll make sure to adjust whatever we need so next time we won’t have the same problems.
