Episode 532: The DMCA Free Episode

Welcome to a new area for Anime Pulse, where gone are the music themes that lined up with the shows we cover; you can thank greedy corporate copyright types for that. Fair use my ass. Music aside, in this episode we’re back to reviews. Andrew talks about stripping the undead, and Joseph has some foodgasms. There’s also discussions of the site, forums, and news involving everyones favorite American president feeding fish, and a Japanese politician throwing video games and anime under the bus.

  1. Heya! Just wanted to comment on your brief summary of Houseki no Kuni. I just didn’t think it was fair to call the animation “so-so”. They’ve got some great and expressive character animation in there as well as some really beautifully animated scenes. It’s quite heartening to see studios finally grasping that you can use CGI animation to do things that would be either impossible or extremely expensive in traditional animation. Gives me some hope for the future of CGI anime.

    1. Hello Good Sir!

Just messaging you back to say that your comment is duly noted and worth giving a full read out and response during the next recording (keep in mind they are posted the week after so it won’t be up this Saturday). Thanks for commenting, it’s always nice to hear from you.

      Peace,

    2. I agree. I think what they’ve done with CG is impressive. If the new Berserk was anywhere close to that quality, I wouldn’t be ashamed of it.

  2. RIP, anime music!
If Andrew is going to put up an anime topic on the forums, I’ll share my opinion there.

Joe, how can you not understand depression, especially after watching March Comes in Like a Lion? To me, that show is an excellent representation of depression. At one point, everyone’s having fun, then the darkness seeps in, and there’s sad mouths with dark lines- and my eyes are wet as I watch.
