Episode 555: Spring 2018 Previews #1

A slightly technical problems show of Anime Pulse this week, with Andrew cutting in and out leaving Joseph to twiddle his thumbs. But all the internet shutting down wouldn’t stop these two, as Joseph talks about the passing of his grandfather and Andrew jumps into community stuff. Only one piece of Industry News this week, and it’s all about a recent episode of Darling in the Frankxx pissing off fans. Finally the previews are here, with Joseph showing his disappointment towards the new DxD and his love for the new Lupin. Andrew on the other hand is ok with a new Vampire anime, but has no time for hot guys dressing up like Butlers.

Episode 554: Anthem of the Imōto

This week on Anime Pulse we get to hear Joseph perform his voice acting as a southern bell for one of our listeners, and Andrew grimaces at a poll for the top most interesting anime that came from light novels. The IRL news is all about how unfair Fire Emblem Heroes has been treating Joseph, and Andrew has plenty of community stuff to cover. Industry news brings us a way to import your waifu in the real world, and a new life sized figurine that will put a $15k size hole in your wallet. And then finally the reviews are here one last time before we head into previews, with Joseph working as an author and Andrew stops talking until he can sing.

VG Pulse 302: Truck Break Dancing

This week on VG Pulse, we have a bit of a longer show, but we found Kas, so there’s that! We start out with side notes of tech fail, postal service wins and fails, and new tech! We then dive into the main news, where we discuss Billy Mitchell’s record-winning high scores on Donkey Kong being proven false and being revoked from the Guinness Book Of World Records (see The King Of Kong: A Fist Full Of Quarters), the FTC giving warnings out to Sony and Nintendo for their language about what violates warranty, and talk of the upcoming E3 press conferences! After the news, we discuss what must be the longest forum we’ve had in eons and post up a new topic, and Millennium and I give our second-looks on Far Cry 5 and Ni No Kuni 2! Episode 553: Boku no Kanojo ga Ito Junji

Did you like that joke episode? I hope not, because it sucked to edit. Back to the way things should be, we start off with IRL news about Joseph sneaking about in Dishonored 2 and Andrew getting around to playing Doki Doki Literature Club. The community section runs a bit long, but that’s only because there’s plenty to talk about when it comes to popular YouTubers. Industry news is rather depressing, but that’s what you get when the co-founder of Ghibli passes away and Japan’s second favorite pastime is showing sings of dying off. At least the reviews break away from the bad news, with Joseph dating a perverted girlfriend and Andrew thumbing his nose at a collection of horror stories.

Manga Pulse 377: Breaking Wind

There’s something quietly amusing about us doing a sports themed manga. Mostly because neither Tim or Weltall are involved in any sports. They also don’t watch or follow any particular teams. Yet they’ve reviewed a manga for most major and a lot of lesser watched sports. From football to foreign football, tennis, shot put, boxing and who knows what else. Popcorn Pulse 81: John Goodman

Dan. Dan? Dan! If you were unfortunate enough to have grown up in the nineties you probably heard a shrill harpy cry that out to in deafening peals to cast and audience alike. It was his stalwart resistance to the sonic assault that earned John, then without surname, his moniker of Goodman. Once he sealed the demon back in the oubliette, he was free to pursue an acting career. Of which we have two particular gems. Continue reading “Popcorn Pulse 81: John Goodman”

Episode 552: Inverted Shokugeki

Don’t you just love it when you get through almost all of something, your on the downward and out, and suddenly the thing you were working on just decides to crash? Yeah, Joseph hates that too. Technical difficulties aside, welcome to a special April Fools edition of Anime Pulse. We got IRL news about Joseph’s bad luck in Fire Emblem Heroes, and Andrew’s community segment. There’s also Industry news with topics like a bad break up in Japan, and an anime being canceled before its final two episodes were released. And in reviews Joseph has the third season of foodgasms, and Andrew flips gravity around a few times.

VG Pulse 301: Ni No Cry 25

This week on VG Pulse, tech fail galore! We start off with side notes of my now fixed laptop, as well as sicknesses coming and going through the family! Afterwards we dive into the main news, where we discuss the recent shooting at YouTube’s headquarters, Far Cry 5’s sales in this new violent-video game-boycotting world, and my favorite news of all; Spyro Reignited Trilogy’s release date!! After the news, Millennium and I give duel first looks on both Far Cry 5 and Ni No Kuni 2, and we finish off with talk of food and anime! All this and more up next on VGP 301!! -Aki Continue reading “VG Pulse 301: Ni No Cry 25”

Manga Pulse 376: Shim Route

Come one come all to the greatest show of all time. At least until we do the next show which will be even better than the last. Look, we’re just trying a new positive thinking exercise to bolster our self confidence. We keep telling the therapist it’s not working but they don’t really care. Really we just want some of those delicious ADD medications so we can focus on our porn searches. Continue reading “Manga Pulse 376: Shim Route”

Popcorn Pulse 80: Monster Trucks

Let’s imagine you’ve made a multi million dollar film sponsored by a major car manufacture with a goofy family friendly premise and creature? You’ve got some solid character actors, a serviceable plot and no plans to make it into a franchise like so many other studios are doing these days? Do you release it early in the spring and hope to beat the tent pole events for a little extra cash? Or do you sit on it for a year and then release it with as much marketing as a wet fart in a sewer? Continue reading “Popcorn Pulse 80: Monster Trucks”
