Double your pleasure, halve your fun. A couple of morons are waiting for you. That’s right, we have a pair of manga just like you have come to expect. That means it must be time for a manga review show. And this time we’ve got a themed episode that will approach very sensitive topics in the way you’ve come to expect from us. Shout out to Bear again for being so passionate that he sent these along for us to do.
Tim has I Married My Best Friend to Shut My Parents Up. We start off with Morimoto. She works in an office and is something of a drone. Everyone else is always asking her out for drinks. Not in an offer for courtship but the trope of going out with the boss after work. She says she has to go home to be with someone who just happens to be a friend from high school who is a lesbian and interested in her. Morimoto decides to pretend they’re married to get her mom to stop asking about grand kids. It gets a Borders.
Weltall has I Married my Female Friend. The setup is fairly familiar if you’ve read even a few manga before. Kurumi and Ruriko make a promise that if they’re single in five years, they’ll get married but at least they’re not children. Skip forward to five years later and they decide there’s not much else going on so they’ll do exactly that. There’s really not much else and that leaves it to earn a Burn It.
