Popcorn Pulse 266: Outbreak of Death

Hey guys, remember random monkey things? Like monkey pirate ninjas? Well what if they were carriers of a super infections disease that ate your face and turned you into a puddle of goo within two days? We sort of have that going on with today’s movie, Outbreak(1995).

It’s about a disease that crops up in Africa in the sixties. It’s carried by capuchins because then they’re not quite as horrifying as something like a chimp. The military bombs the outbreak spot after collecting a sample. Fast forward to modern day, the nineties, and there’s a new outbreak(hey, that’s the title) cropping up. Dustin Hoffman and Cuba Gooding Jr must swoop in to make a cure before California gets bombed now.

Next up is Tim with Death on the Nile[2022]. You remember that period where Kenneth Branagh was remaking the Hercule Poirot films? We forgot about it too. Between Armie Hammer and Gal Gadot’s acting, it’s definitely a movie. And spoiler alert, Hercule finds out who did the murder but they die instead of being brought to justice. At least we got the “enough champagne…to fill THE NILE!” line out of Gal.

Weltall then has The Rip[2026]. Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are back. This time they’re police officers who do action filled raids. During one, they find a whole boatload worth of money. They won’t let that money come between the team. The team is like family in that they hate each other and wish the rest were dead so there’s more money for the rest of them.
