Episode 552: Inverted Shokugeki

Don’t you just love it when you get through almost all of something, your on the downward and out, and suddenly the thing you were working on just decides to crash? Yeah, Joseph hates that too. Technical difficulties aside, welcome to a special April Fools edition of Anime Pulse. We got IRL news about Joseph’s bad luck in Fire Emblem Heroes, and Andrew’s community segment. There’s also Industry news with topics like a bad break up in Japan, and an anime being canceled before its final two episodes were released. And in reviews Joseph has the third season of foodgasms, and Andrew flips gravity around a few times.

Manga Pulse 376: Shim Route

Come one come all to the greatest show of all time. At least until we do the next show which will be even better than the last. Look, we’re just trying a new positive thinking exercise to bolster our self confidence. We keep telling the therapist it’s not working but they don’t really care. Really we just want some of those delicious ADD medications so we can focus on our porn searches. Continue reading “Manga Pulse 376: Shim Route”

Popcorn Pulse 80: Monster Trucks

Let’s imagine you’ve made a multi million dollar film sponsored by a major car manufacture with a goofy family friendly premise and creature? You’ve got some solid character actors, a serviceable plot and no plans to make it into a franchise like so many other studios are doing these days? Do you release it early in the spring and hope to beat the tent pole events for a little extra cash? Or do you sit on it for a year and then release it with as much marketing as a wet fart in a sewer? Continue reading “Popcorn Pulse 80: Monster Trucks”

Episode 551: Osake wa Fūfu ni Nekopara

Ever wonder what it’s like to be the only girl in a room full of guys? Try asking Queen Inoue, she’ll know that answer. After learning that tid bit of information, come back for IRL news about lackluster Fire Emblem draws and the community section. Then industry news sees Joseph talk about virtual YouTubers, and Andrew shakes his head at the backwards thinking of Toei Animation. And finally we got reviews, with Joseph fueling his drunk wife’s bad habit and Andrew petting some pussy. Yes, I mean catgirls.

Manga Pulse 375: Yuusha Ends

There’s a certain point where we just can’t recall if we’ve done a manga. This is, in no small part, hampered by the fact that so many of them have beats and plot points that are so interchangeable that Henry Ford would be proud. So sometimes we end up doing double takes, have to triple check and do quintuple searches of the site to be sure we haven’t done something before. Continue reading “Manga Pulse 375: Yuusha Ends”

Manga Pulse 374: Baka-san

This is an episode with numbers in it. It’s at least in the triple digits, we’re sure of it. Just give us a few seconds to look at the previous recordings and then the episode descriptions we have written and we’ll figure it out. Then, when we find out we’re wrong, we’ll panic and hastily correct ourselves with a sloppy edit. Continue reading “Manga Pulse 374: Baka-san”

Popcorn Pulse 79: Scotsman has Fallen

It’s time for one of our theme episodes again. This time we’ve latched onto Gerrard Butler and his hilarious filmography. Starting with a dual discussion London Has Fallen. The movie takes place a year after the last one and Butler’s character is thinking of retiring. When the London PM dies, all world leaders convene for the funeral which turns out to be a trap. Butler must escort president Ekhart though London while stabbing everyone within arms reach like Roberto give a freshly honed shiv. Continue reading “Popcorn Pulse 79: Scotsman has Fallen”

Episode 550: Kuroko no Noraneko Heart

Happy Saint Patrick’s day everyone! And you know what that means? Drinking of course! Not that it’s any different from how Joseph and Andrew work a normal episode, but at least there’s more of a reason this time. IRL news hits us with Joseph finishing Mass Effect: Andromeda, and Andrew quickly jumps into the forum topic and front page comments. Industry news hits us with an explanation for why we hear noise in a vacuum like space, and the announcement of a new season of the Ace Attorney anime. And finally are the reviews, where Andrew plays basketball and Joseph neuters a cat.
