We’ve got a great show this week. Per request I go a bit more indepth on skiing in Hokkaido. We also talk about the news and then Anime. Batou reviews Miracle Train and I did a first episode preview of the following nine (that’s right, nine) new shows: Ookami Kakushi, Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu, Chuu Bra!!, Dance in the Vampire Bund, Hanamaru Kindergarten, Kaito Reinya, Ladies vs. Butlers, Omamori Himari and Seikon no Quasar. Here’s a hint, they were mostly bad.

Show Notes

Intro – Errand by Faylan from Seikon no Qwaser
Outro – Neko Mimi Mode by Dimitri From Paris from Tsukiyomi Moon Phase

Miracle Train ~Oedo-sen e Youkoso~ – Wait until it hits the US and NetFlix it.

I have a feeling that you misunderstand the appeal of BtTtS, the fact that you never mentioned once the name of Hideyoshi is just purely disgraceful XD

Neither is Tokyo. But the Oedo sen has two stops in the Nakano area, so he could be representing one of those. It’s not like he could be named “Higashi-Nakano”.

I’m thinking that M. Night Shyamalyan (or however you spell it) will be on his way back with The Last Airbender.

Avatar was good, too, Batou! Well, do I even have to say so? With all the people who have gone to see it, a friend on any side of you would be screaming it at you. Don’t just sit in you anime hole! BOTH Avatars can be a good experience.

As for that Tekken trailer, um, they got the characters right (OK, Heihachi is not a buff grandpa); but the budget is cheap and it looks like there are no effects, in a movie which could really use it. It’s just martial artists badly acting in a cheap set.

You mentioned in the news section about the new Chinese Anime Astro Plan. I checked it out and it is amazing how much it blatantly rips off Macross and Gundam. I mean damn…they didn’t even try to hide it. Also it is awsome hearing about Japan on the Podcast I am possibly going to Yokosuka in a few months to live and you have already added alot to my list of places to go.

hi ichigo and batou, I am a listener from BeiJing and I really like your podcast, especially this episode so I put a comment on. I notice ichigo spend so much time on every first episode of this season’s new released Animes this time. I must say that is SO helpful! Now the 3rd episode of hanamaru kindergarten is about to come out and I am looking forward to it ’cause I love those 4-years-old girls! Thank you for make a preview on this season’s animes so I can watch hanamaru. (I was about to gave up while I heard from my friends that there was nothing good this week) Thank god I listen to your podcast later and gave hanamaru a chance! Thanks! Can’t wait for your next show!
PS: your intro music. I admit it’s a so-so song. But that is a reminder of a lousy anime. Breast-feeding with combat? I mean, come on! are you really that bad taste ichigo
