Episode 675: Fall 2020 Previews #4

This week on Anime Pulse we got the scariest anime characters, a witch named Juliet, and giant corporations eating one another. First up IRL news gets Joseph happy about his recent luck in FGO, and Andrew attempts to narrow down who we feel to be the scariest anime character ever. Then in the industry news there’s more sweet food news, a look ahead into 2021 anime, and the reason why death by speeding vehicle is the most popular way to isekai. Finally we wrap up the Fall 2020 previews with Andrew goes on a witchy journey while working part-time at a connivence store, and Joseph performs the most cliche play in the history of the world as an anime.

  1. To put Andy at ease (because he always seems to wonder have a conundrum about the pronunciation) It is Elfen “Leed” Ive heard it pronounced that way often enough, so I’ve gone with it. What the hell is a “leed”? Off to Wikipedia!

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lied

So what does this have with moe invisible death arms? Where are the elves? Fuck if I know! It’s one of those ::PUSHES UP GLASSES:: kinda titles.

    1. BTW, the Elfen Lied OP is absolute bop material.

Have you seen the anime adaptation from the Mangaka’s other work? I forget the name of it, but a bland male protag meets these mysterious girls and it’s a bit grimdark

      1. UPDATE: The Elfen Lied author’s follow-up was Brynhildr in the Darkness. Boy, this MFer does love his German titles.

PS: I can’t spell Brynhildr to save my life. Thanks to MAL for that spelling. (Get off my lawn, you Anilist kids)

  2. I watched That is the Bottleneck as well, and I definitely didn’t expect it to be psuedo horror. You do get to see what that dude has going on above his neck.

I really expected this show to be a workplace comedy, like Skullface Bookseller Honda-kun. I’m a little disappointed, but like you said, it’s just a short anime. I can watch the whole season in a little over a hlf hour, and the ED rocks.
