Episode 484: Summer Previews #2

And so it ends; the previews that is. This is the last week of them, as the next time we return it will be time to do a couple reviews until the fall season rolls in. Speaking of which, Anime Pulse will not have anything for the listeners until Ryo begins reporting from Otkakon. Look for the next major show near the second to final week of August, which will be right around the time for Red’s birthday! Woo! Anyways, previews! Four of them! Get to the listening!

Episode 483: Summer Previews #1 (with problems)

Ho boy, what a show we have in store for you folks. As you might be able to tell from the title, this show was more or less the most technical-problem plagued one since Red took over the editing. Taking a day off from work he put his blood and sweat into fixing the show up as much as he could, and now here it is in all it’s dilapidated glory. Any who, it’s previews time and your hosts are here to deliver you some promising candidates for the summer season. Even if we’re only a month away from fall…

Episode 482: Your Favorite Kind Of Thing

It’s a new episode of Anime Pulse, this week brought to you by your now dead hosts who have been slain by the previous hosts for making fun of their favorite things. But fear not, Red and Ryo both made a save state before taking a bankai sword to the gut and a few hypodermic needles to the brain. Before all that happened though, there was this show where Red and Ryo talked about bad girlfriends in anime, apologetic Ghibli producers, and plenty of off topic discussions in-between. Then they cap off the show with two reviews, one of the slice of life Aiura and the other the almost hentai Shinmai Mao no Testament. Continue reading “Episode 482: Your Favorite Kind Of Thing”

Episode 481: Assassins in School

Look out behind you, because you might very well be the next target of the notorious Anime Pulse assassins; Red and Ryo. They first begin with a flashback to their respective pasts, tragic pasts filled with retirement parties and school work. Then they sneak in close and whisper in your ear with industry news, covering topics like who not to date in anime and how to properly enjoy a meal while wearing a paper bag. Finally they pull out their rubber knives and stick you like a roast pig, filling you with a sense of what it feels like to be yellow octopus or a scar covered pretty girl. What’s that? None of this made any sense? Well I guess you’ll just have to listen to the show and learn the truths behind my cryptic words.

Episode 480: Just a Little Thunder

Welcome dear listeners to another episode of Anime Pulse, this week Red and Ryo return to the standard format and bring us back into the reviews. IRL news sort of devolves into video game talk, with topics like Ryo’s fear of large bugs and the thunderstorm at Red’s place. Then it’s on to industry news, where we have a story on otaku scientists naming galaxies and vocaloids finally making it into school textbooks. And last but not least the reviews, as Ryo roasts I My Mi and Red intrigues Ryo with Chivalry of a Failed Knight.

Episode 478: Spring 2016 Previews #2

Welcome to the second previews show of the 2016 anime season, and a show completely devoid of Ryo. That’s right, the intrepid and often sickly Ryo has taken a bit of a sabbatical to recover. Meanwhile, Red has gotten a guest host from the past to return; Spirewrecker from the 4Player Anime Cast! After a brief reintroduction, Red and Spire kicks things off with IRL news which quickly segues into Industry News which is bursting with content this week! Hentai Manga Authors getting licensed, Anime Authors evading taxes, and the controversy that is the live-action GitS. Afterwards both hosts dig into three more anime from the spring catalogue: Hundred, Kiznaiver, and Big Order. Don’t miss out on this one folks!

Episode 477: Spring 2016 Previews #1

Welcome to another episode of Anime Pulse, this week brought to you by the empty amphitheater that Ryo apparently decided to record from. Technical difficulties aside, this is the first previews show of the Spring 2016 season. We’ve got IRL updates from both of the hosts, industry news about cats and ideal body types, and then the previews of which there are four in total. We’ll be doing two of these shows this season, and then possibly taking a week off while Ryo recovers from near death via finals.

Episode 476: The Tim and Weltall Show

For this weeks show Red and Ryo have become one with their bosses and have begun to exemplify their pessimistic views of the anime industry, or in other words they poke fun at the state of Manga Pulse and its hosts. But before they work hard on trying to get fired, Red and Ryo regale you with their IRL news where they attempt to explain their long absences. Red has a new car, and Ryo is single again. Then it’s onto the Industry News, or lack-there-of as it’s a slow ass past few weeks for anything interesting to talk about. But doing their best Red has a follow-up piece about a Voice Actress facing charges after being found with cocaine, and Ryo informs everyone about the exciting venture of a Final Fantasy 15 anime. And lastly is reviews, where Ryo takes the lead with the feathery Comet Lucifer and Red rounds us out with Absolute Duo.

Episode 475: The Airplane Over Your Head Show

Still no live show? What the heck man! This isn’t what I pay no money for! Sheesh, what a lazy bunch of bums. That’s right, it’s another week and another episode of Anime Pulse coming right at ya. Like a bad joke, it just flies right over your head because you just don’t get it. Speaking of which, Tokyo Ghoul Root A. Now there’s a joke of an anime, and boy howdy does Ryo have some words to say about it. Red chimes in too on their joint review of the season, but in the end the two hosts have somewhat different opinions on its final rating. Aside from the review, we got news about France banning Doraemon and a “How to Draw Manga” book that’s all about the panties. But before any of that happens, Ryo and Red fill you in on what’s been going down in their lives.
