The Full Metal Panic novels has the original story end after the 12th volume of the light novels. The others are side stories focused on the comedy element and don’t further the story at all. There have been 2 more light novels released which work as a sort of sequel, taking place 10 years after the original story ends.
FUUUUCK! That Guilty Crown opener is even better than what they play of it in the show!
