Manga Pulse 508: Hot Rock

We’re really going to shake things up today. We have a manga. But wait, there’s more! Manga that is. Ok, you caught us. We’re not really breaking the mold here. We’re being reliable. The kind of reviewers you can count on to deliver quality content. Or at least content that is delivered. We’re kind of dissembling here because this week’s bit isn’t all fleshed out and we had to get something down for the episode description.

Popcorn Pulse 214: Cube-age

Wait, is that a box? What’s in the box? No, really, what’s in the box? You’d be forgiven for thinking this means we’re talking about a well known and referenced nineties movie. We are talking about a movie that was part of the “have to watch” if you were slightly into film in that era though. Featuring a no-star Canadian cast that can’t help but beg for a box of Timbits and subpar coffee with every meaningful glance. Which can only mean the box we referenced prior has to be part of Cube(1997).

Manga Pulse 507: Brave Knight

You know those cooking shows where they bring on the absolute worst people? Like, they find someone who was born without a sense of taste because they were raised on a steady diet of pizza rolls and hot cheetos. Then they give them a kitchen stocked full of ingredients and let them loose. Neither do we but we’d like to see it happen. Especially if they were forced to try and remake something akin to their favorite food. Luckily we have a couple of manga to make up for the lack of what could be on TV.

Popcorn Pulse 213: Dekotora

Two guys and ten movies. No, it’s not us talking yet more James Bond. Though that will be coming. We’ve got something a little special for everyone. By that we mean we’re doing a movie that wasn’t in either of our wheelhouse and probably hasn’t been covered by a whole host of people before. We have Truck Rascals(1975).

Manga Pulse 506: Blame Tim

A whole other week arrives. Along with all the chill and snow of a new year. In spite of this we rouse the dogs and lash them to the sled. All so we can make our long and arduous journey to the manga store. From which we will review two manga. Will they be found fresh or are they molding like those mangosteens no one ate?

Manga Pulse 505: Night Bully

Line up folks. It’s episode five hundred and five. Which is always a bit awkward to type out. We were once told that the and in number was for describing decimal points. Yet it feels natural to write it out like that. Then when we go and check style guides and they say that it’s better to use numerals for larger numbers because writing it out wastes space. Screw you, style guides, we have near infinite space thanks to the digital revolution.

Popcorn Pulse 210: Bames Jond

We’ve gone and done it again. Forgone the usual schedule to stay on the topic of our favorite British secret service agents. No, not Christopher Lee. Though maybe he should enter the equation some time. And he will make an appearance in this little deviation we’re enjoying. Until then, we start with From Russia With Love(1963).

Popcorn Pulse 209: James Bond

We’ve talked about it for quite some time. Teased and hinted at doing something a little unorthodox from the norm. So we’ve broken down and gone and done it. We’ve leaned into the universe of James Bond. Helped by the fact it’s all free on a certain streaming service we don’t advertise for free.
