This week on VG Pulse, we somehow still have a lot of news!! We start off with side notes of recovering from illness, before diving into the news where we discuss the Playstation Winter State of Play 2024, the amazing runaway success of Palworld, the theft of over 35000 Pokémon cards among other merchandise, the alarming number of layoffs across all corners of the games industry in the last month, and Pokémon’s response to Palworld and other games too! After the news we go over the Discord Discussions, and then Millennium gives his review of Sid Meier’s Civilization VI, and then he and I give a joint first look at Palworld!! Manga Pulse 507: Brave Knight

You know those cooking shows where they bring on the absolute worst people? Like, they find someone who was born without a sense of taste because they were raised on a steady diet of pizza rolls and hot cheetos. Then they give them a kitchen stocked full of ingredients and let them loose. Neither do we but we’d like to see it happen. Especially if they were forced to try and remake something akin to their favorite food. Luckily we have a couple of manga to make up for the lack of what could be on TV.

Episode 838: Winter 2024 Previews #1

This week on Anime Pulse we got the first round of previews from the new year, the solution to Japan’s declining birthrates, and vtuber trouble. Up first Joseph doesn’t talk so much about his week as he does talk about some recent vtubers who have moved on, and Andrew is looking to find the best looking but worst plot driven anime. Then in the industry news a new golfing anime has Andrew psyched, and Crunchyroll still thinks it can host an awards show for the best anime of the past year. And finally in the previews Joseph wakes up to find himself turned into a skeleton after hunting and cooking monsters for food, and Andrew reveals he is a level 99 villainess with hearing problems.

Episode 837: The Garden of Sweet

This week on Anime Pulse we got what is considered appropriate attire, baking bonka pies, and new controllers. Up first Joseph is relearning how to Overwatch after buying a new controller, and Andrew is trying to trick people into taking offers from Kyubey. Then in the industry news a collab squid ink burger appears in Dom Dom, and the future of the translation industry is run by machines. And finally in the final reviews until the new season of previews start, Joseph is reincarnated into a world without apples or good desserts and Andrew makes a lady new shoes in the rain.

This week on Anime Pulse we got a baking company joining Japan’s earthquake relief, more middling isekai, and snow. Up first Joseph sees the first real snow storm to hit New York, and Andrew wants to know if we have any New Year resolutions. Then in the industry news Mr. Anime-was-a-Mistake draws a new years Dragon, and the live performance Spirited Away is streaming now! Lastly in the reviews Joseph walks through a door and becomes a super chad nice guy, and Andrew makes friends with an old man inside a bird.

Episode 835: Night is Dead, Walk on Play

This week on Anime Pulse we got rude teachers, no new year resolutions, and reverse isekai. Up first Joseph was a good citizen and turned in a cell phone to the police, and Andrew asks the community what the best anime of 2023 were. Then in the industry news an ESL teacher in Japan tries to pass of being an asshole as an “American Joke”, and theater staff are increasingly annoyed by the movie tie-in swag for anime movies. And then in the reviews Joseph reincarnates into the body of a recently murdered boy, and Andrew keeps accidentally bumping into the love of his life who believes all things are fated.
