Manga Pulse 475: Elder Hell

Coming to you straight from the home of the Keebler elves. No, not wherever some factory that Nabisco claims to own. We’re doing this now from a tree in the middle of the woods. Around us lay the corpses of those that dared so stand in the way of our hunger for grasshopper cookies. The rest are hiding out in the back, cranking on the cookie machine. Which means we’re here and, like the only proper oreo, double stuffed with reviews.

Popcorn Pulse 179: Unbearable Cage

Well, the patron saint of our show finally did a movie that was meta. So naturally we had to do it. Nicolas Cage in The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent[2022]. Cage plays Cage, an actor who was better respected once and needs work. Which leads him to taking a gig doing a birthday engagement for a wealthy man who is a cartel leader.

Episode 765: Summer 2022 Previews #5

This week on Anime Pulse we got Not-Sagiri, Shinto Shrines exploding, and a lack of IRL news. Up first Joseph has nothing to say beyond he’s ready for Florida, and Andrew is jumping the shark in this week’s community segment. Then in the industry news we learn that COVID has turned ravenous otaku into model citizens, Kirby had an anime, and Bleach’s latest arc is rumored to be available only on The Mouse. And lately our final previews episode has Joseph delving back into a dungeon to pickup girls and fight huge moss, while Andrew tries to be a proper lady by drinking tea at a cafe for retired weapons of mass destruction.

Manga Pulse 474: School the Bitch

With all the targeted marketing branching out, I have an idea. There’s an underutilized market that’s ripe for tapping. The boomers. You might counter that they see foreign comics as degenerate. I counter that there’s a large chunk of them that are secretly degenerates and can be swayed by the argument that it’s art. Or just blast their DMs with animu titties and they’ll eventually come around.

Popcorn Pulse 178: Tim’s Audio Sucks

Have you ever just sat in a spaceship and wanted to drive? You know I was a Tesla Mars customer before I ever did ads. Even without the chip in by brains screaming at me to be loyal to the Emperor Musk. Even before all of that, Matthew McConaughey did other things. Like be the titular Joe in

Killer Joe[2011].

VG Pulse 377: One Cat To Rule The Internet

This week on VG Pulse, cats win the internet. We start off with side notes of work life and summer life, before diving into the regular news where we discuss the (maybe?) revival of E3, the tragic loss of a young member of the Minecraft community, another rant about the implications of pushing for online-only, discussions about the implications of even more small studios being absorbed up by larger studios, and some great mods for Stray! Speaking of that, we head off to the reviews, where I discuss the catastic world of Stray and all of it’s beautiful furry ways, while Millennium updates the review for World of Tanks! We finish off with talk of food and anime! All this and more up next on VGP 377!! ~Aki

Episode 762: Summer 2022 Previews #2

This week on Anime Pulse we got good gatcha luck, the return of Vic, and a man Joseph hates as much as Andrew hates Rent-a-Girlfriend’s Kazuya. First up Joseph got all the 5-starts he wanted in the recent summer FGO event, and Andrew asks us to look way into the future and think if you’ll be watching anime still. Then in the industry news we have topics like a man doing his best to ruin the environment, and Seven Seas being a shitty publisher attempting to appeal to the LGBT community by turning a man trans. And finally in the previews Joseph summons a sexy Onee-san demon to kill a deadbeat loser who keeps turning down paying work, and Andrew loses all his previews to the data sea and can’t recover them.
