Episode 469: The “You Know What I’m Sayin” Show

So here’s a test. Who reads this? Who still listens? Let me know in comments section for this episode. This is going to be a pretty important test, and depending on its outcome Red is going to either keep rolling with the show or is going to hit the switch and put this podcast to bed. So if you still want this show to be a thing you’d better speak up, otherwise Anime Pulse will come to an end. That said, here’s the rundown for this episode: Red and Ryo try a new introduction with Red partially messing it up, and then they go straight into IRL news. After which Red reads the list of the most villains characters in anime and Ryo talks about an expensive Lum statue, or is it a figurine? Who really cares, it’s a giant depiction of Lum that’s probably already sold out. And to cap things off Red reviews the strong-female-warrior anime of Madan no Ou to Vanadis, and Ryo reviews the monster-girl filled world of Monster Musume.

Given our track record with flying, you’d think we’d want to avoid films that avoid reminding us of the screaming metal science tubes that propel us around. Not because flying terrorizes us, though it does when we fail to take out anxiety meds, but because we hate dealing with security. Nothing quite like explaining to someone, who may or may not be able to actually pass a Federal background check, that the round of shaving soap isn’t dangerous. It may say glycerin on it and that may, in fact, be a component of nitroglycerin which is another component of dynamite but we aren’t going to pay a visit to the chemistry crafting table in mid flight and turn it into something volatile. Episode 467: Plastic Mouse

Sorry for the late release everyone, with Thanksgiving just around the corner Red has been pretty busy with other things and just plum forgot to upload the show. But at last here it is, so enjoy. As per normal it’s IRL news first with a brand new intro sound, Red likes this one much better and hopefully you do too. Starting off IRL news though Red talks about how he has a job with the state of new york finally, and Ryo continues to suffer from the curse of the cohost. Afterwards is industry news with a short piece from Red about an animator for Full Metal Alchemist who retells an encounter he had with police, and Ryo follows up with news of an arrest after a group uploaded scanlations of a manga online. And finally it’s into the reviews, with Red’s look at an old one from 2003 called Mouse and Ryo picking up something more recent titled Plastic Memories.
