Episode 603: Spring 2019 Previews #3

Are you ready to sell your soul to the loli devil? Good, because this week Joseph upsets all the ANN readers with one his previews. Before we get to that, the guys hit us with what has been going on with them IRL. Afterwards the industry news is short and sad, as Anime New Network loses its shit over loli fox girls and mangaka all across Japan scramble to buy up watercolor ink. And lastly are more previews, with Joseph introducing us to a feel-good loli fox girl and a cat-ish girl from Nagoya, and Andrew summons his newest stand to help translate the romantic feelings between two mythological creatures.

  1. Just like ANN’s reaction to the loli fox girl anime, I think the recent attention to ANN is overblown. Yeah, Senko-san is pretty tame, especially when you consider that there’s a Nobunaga Loves Naked Lolis anime in the same season. But a) we all know this show is giving lolicons an out with the whole “she’s actually hundreds of years old” gimmick and b) ANN have been social justice warriors way before the internet created a term to express their butthurt over ultra liberals

I know I’m not the only one around here to witness all the crap that went down in the ANN forums, and I’m totally sure that people have listened to the opinions of the ANNcast podcast hosts. The magnifying glass is on them for the Vic controversy, but I feel like this is consistent behavior
